Charter One Pavillion

Who has been to this place and can give me some insight. I'm about to buy some tickets to a concert. Is general admission good or should I get pavillion seats? How are the facilities? Are the staff assholes? Success with smuggling in booze?

I've been there a couple of times. The times I went there were chairs from the stage to about 100ft back then a walkway, then there are bleacher type seats. If you are going to 311, then I doubt they will have those chairs there. I would get GA.

I ended up standing in the walkway to watch the show. It's quite small for an outdoor place, I liked it. I didn't sneak in booze, but it can always be done if done discreetly. I wouldn't stuff a fifth of wild turkey down my pants but maybe a flask. Security is the same as any other places, some earning a check some taking it too seriously. Hope that helps.

How's the sound? I hope its not like world or tweeter center. That place is horrible.

I agree with GA, the bleachers are pretty far from the stage.

I saw Alice in Chains/Deftones there a couple of years ago, thought the sound was pretty bad-ass. It's all outdoors so there aren't any weird walls or corners to mess with sound.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

this is a good venue. sound is much better than tweeter/whatever its called now bank park. Been to a few shows there, STP a few years ago when they had a high school marching band open up for them. I think it was part of scott wieland's community service.

never had a problem with the staff there. they let you sneak in whatever you can fit in your anus.

I live right down the street and have seen 311 there before. Go with GA, the seating area is pretty far back. If you want to drink get the VIP tickets and sit back there. Security is tight, you won't be sneaking anything in.

The sound was pretty good from just off-center of GA toward the stage. Not sure what it sounds like back in the seating section.

I may down over there, depends if I find any cheaper tickets online. Concerts are a damn ripoff these days (totally skipping Lolla, for example).

It was a rip off. 60 bucks a ticket for GA. I don't care though. I really want to see slightly stoopid. Haven't been to a concert in a while. Ryan and I saw Social D over the winter that was fun. The 2 girlfriends I'm going with are really cool. I'm sure we are going to get smashed and have a good time. We just take the electric metra line straight downtown, no worries about driving or parking. We are going to prime at Flossmoor station then get on the train Friday the 17th.
