Well, it looks like the BS is starting

I just saw this pop up in one of my threads.

It's one thing if I see an ad for Cabela's or whatever else because web pages track my shopping habits...I expect that...but this is known BS ad. Like that "an unusual secret that make teeth bright, wrinkles disappear, and penis grow" - this is BS and bothers me to see in our forum.

You only see those if you are not logged in or your session times out. That only shows up for guest browsing. Once you log back in those go away.

Take a deep breath, relax.

Odd, I'm not sure why I got logged out, but you're right. I saw the ad and noticed I was logged out and went WTF.

He was talking about having ads in the middle of the thread - not at the header / footer. If you see them in the middle when you're logged in, you might wanna dial down your dose a touch.

First time I saw those (sesh timed out) I penned my resignation letter. When I logged back in and they went away - I opened another beer and went back to surfing porn.

So what is the Battery thing all about and why do Power Cos hate them?

use your imagination...

I would assume...

a) you get a generator like that and mount it on a Natural Gas driven turbine.
b) you make your own power
c) The power companies hate them because they make no money...

d) in Germany for instance the Power companies have to buy Power from you, if you create for instance solar or wind power, for more money than you buy their power from...
e.g. You have a 1MW system that feeds into the Power Companies grid, they pay you let's say 1$ per KWH. You than buy the power from them to use in your own place for 75ct per KWH... so you make them loose money...

Ok what about ads that have sound? Those are fucking irritating. Real fun when you have your headphones on listening to music while surfing and BOOM, it blows your ears. Got one of those yesterday from here. And yes I was logged in.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

If everyone uses Ad Block, the site makes no money (granted, it's not going to people we ride with now but...), if the site makes no money, it gets shut down.

I don't mind seeing Ads for stuff following my cookies, it's when I start seeing bogus ads that I take issue.

Edit to Add: how to I block TDS? I'm done with it.
