Victoria's Secret

Now that I got your attention, here is the situation.

My friends 16yo step-son comes to him and tells him that he is going to buy his girl friend a VS gift card for her birthday. My friend tells him No and then goes on FB to get input about his decision.

I told him that he is a hypocrite, but I was one of few who saw it that way.

I am amazed that a 16 yo kid would have that kind of discussion with his parents and that he does not have a friend to tell him to buy a small family friendly gift to show of to the parents and a real personal one that only the two of them would know about.

Your thoughts?

Greg

I do not believe the money was a factor in this situation. Since I am not his parent, I agree, he should have just taken care of his business.

I'd tell the kid to do w/e he wants... but he better be using his own money. Cause I'd feel like a pedo if I bought it for him to give to his 16 y.o. girlfriend.

The VS gift card is not bad or infer sex anymore. They sell regular clothes too, usually right next door. One of my friends GF works at one. Every time you see a girl with something that says PINK on the ass or on a shirt it likely comes from there. They own the whole "Pink" line. Could be as innocent as the GF having asked for a gift card to buy some sweatpants.
But being a 16 yrs old boy I bet he had some other "pink" in mind LOL......

Kids are boinking and doing some crazy sick stuff well before 16 nowadays, so a VS gift card for a 16yo doesn't sound all that off, relatively speaking.

Dante: [to Randal] You never go ass-to-mouth!
Randal: [to Dante] Would you grow up!
Becky: [to Dante] OK, I'm only telling you this because we're friends, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ass-to-mouth.
Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.

I don't know about 10 years ago, but it is right on track to what it was 20 years ago.

I was looking at some stats the other day showing how drug usage and alcohol usage has been pretty steady among teenagers since the 70's.

But just noticing from friends and friends of friends, I've noticed kids starting to smoke, use drugs, alcohol, and start having sex earlier and earlier every few years.

I guess it really does have alot of variables, but just pointing out what I've noticed.
