The fedral budget! Make your own!

Ill have to do this when i get time - itll probably look like obamas if i did it 5 yrs ago, now with the past events and mistakes ive made itll look like a cheap jewish deli owners budget! or actually more like a indian grocery store owner as they are the cheapest fucks on the planet! Indians are cheaper than if a Jew, greek and a bulgarian had a baby!

I initially went through that pretty much as I envision Obama making his policies. Blindly and ignorantly. I just picked what seemed like a good thing without weighing any of the negative implications like thinking about how raising taxes will hurt growth. Unfortunately this budget isn't anywhere near this cut and dry when it comes to the economy. If you tax more, people spend less, jobs will employ fewer people, and there is less money being generated for taxes.
Needless to say I had a 2 trillion deficit going this approach. Its not surprising.

I did it again, but cut literally everything, I removed the ACA, and cut middleclass taxes. And I still ended up with a 1.73 Trillion deficit. Something tells me this website is ran by democrats and is trying to convince people that raising taxes is a necessity. Clearly this is ludicrous. America generates plenty of Tax dollars to sustain itself, if that money is spent wisely. Just stop spending on needless government, and stop spending on freeloaders, and everything will sort itself out. Not to mention it is missing countless areas that are black holes for tax money.

There is a sh!t ton of wasteful spending in the Government and the site only hits the top of the crop on a small percentage of the issues.

For example, the government, pays farmers not to harvest crops that they planted (personal friend knowledge) and yet still subsidizes the farming industry.. Yes Supply and Demand is much of the reason and I understand that, but lower food prices comes and poverty in terms of people eating is better off, so why subsidize farmers to shit on their a$$.

Me too...I think they're trying to get ideas on how to actually craft a budget because they have been in violation of Federal law and haven't presented a budget since BHO was elected!
BUT...This sites criteria will never work because it doesn't include the increase in revenue as the economy grows and more people and businesses are paying taxes. The proof of history is evident...every time government steps out of the way and allows people and business to keep more of the money they've earned the economy grows and the amount of cash going into the treasury increases WITHOUT A TAX INCREASE! The Dems won't even consider a budget without a tax increase...so this site must be run by them!

there are definitely farmers out there who are getting rich while also getting a subsidy check from uncle Sam, but that's a drop in the bucket compared to what the farm bill does for the big banks, big insurance, and big food corps.

if the farm bill mainly benefitted farmers, do you think Washington would keep it around? hell no. the actual farmers have very little collective lobbying power.

Total Deficit Reduction 3.1T
Total Surplus $0.8 T

That's with reforming the tax code, cutting defense spending slightly, but cutting abunch of subsidies. Invested in infrastructure.

That would be about the minimum I would do. I bet I could get a bigger surplus. I think to pay off the debt, it would need to be around 2 T surplus and pay it down over 10 years or so (not sure what the interest is).

If you look at the unemployment chart to the right you can see that Americans were back to work in 1941. If you're going to thank FDR, then thank him for declaring war on Japan and Germany, not the new deal.

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

^^^ BanditCPA got to the proper reply before I did.........The Government programs kept many from starving but they did nothing to end the depression. It just created a system of entitlements that people became dependant on and are choking us even now...When JFK, The Gipper, GWB and even Slick Willie gave rebates and tax cuts the economy GREW and so did the number of taxpayers and with it the amount of revenue that ended up in the treasury...You claim to not have slept through history class but, you obviously didn't pay attention !

Looking at the federal from such a high level doesn't solve anything. What's funny is the fastest growing Economies in the world right now only tax the top 1% of earners. The US is relatively regressive in their tax policy. Cutting capital gains tax and adding a value added tax is what I would like to see.

Not bad for a democratic liberal.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
