I have always been taught when walking, riding a bicyle or skateboarding on a street to be in the "on coming lane" so you are facing traffic. This way you can see the assholes coming at you and at least might have half a chance of avoiding getting hit. That is what I have never liked about those bike lanes. You can't see assholes coming up behind you unless if you have a mirror but still.

I know I know... coulda woulda shoulda. What a fucked up way to get hurt or die. Hopefully the dude pulls through. How fucked up is he?
