What would you have done?

The other day I was getting medicine for my daughter for her ear. I walked out and this a$$hole blew the stop sign and was right by the walking area at the store. As he blew the stop sign, he almost hit me and I had my daughter in my arms. It was a BMW SUV and around where I live, they think they own the roads. I hope I don't offend anyone here who owns one. Anyways, I was so mad and He was so close, I kicked the SUV. He was driving while talking on a cell and had coffee in his other had. He got out and yelled "why fu*k did you do that a$$hole?" and I pointed the stop sign and said "do you know what that is?" and I said he should get the Saturn Vue, it won't dent when someone kicks it!
What would have everyone here have done? I know it wasn't right what I did, but I was pi$$ed!

F- him, I'd have done the same, especially due to this twat putting one of the kids at that close of risk.

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.

Thanks all. I was happy he didn't see the dent; I still had my work boots on!!! HA! The sad part he probably didn't learn anything. Is it that hard to pay attention and be courteous to other people?

I have done the same thing. I was at Best Buy walking back to my car, also with my 3 yr. old daughter in my arms. Well I just about got to my truck when I feel this bump on my thigh, then this rubbing on my calf and it started pushing into me further. I look, and this bitch is driving into me looking the other way. I jumped off to the side and put my daughter in the bed of my truck and proceeded to pound and kick the shit out of her Caddy. She gets out and tried to yell at me when I show her my leg which her tire left a mark on. She said she was gonna make me pay for the damage to her car and I told her "No, I'm not, besides bitch, it's either the car or you. Don't be here when I pull my truck out" Sh starts telling this guy not to let me into my truck and he told her that he'd do the same as I did. I just cracked up. It wasn't until she saw me put my daughter in her car seat that the bitch tried to apologize. I must say they don't make Caddys like they used to

Honestly I prolly wouldn't have cared as much(just slapped the hood or something) if it was just me but when you put my daughter's well-being at risk, it's on!

Jimbo, I am impressed you were able to balance while holding a kid, ear medicine, and kicking a moving SUV. That's pretty sweet. I would have done the same thing.

I walk home from the RT 59 train station each night and every time I cross North Aurora Rd I have to watch for some asswipe who's not paying attention. I've almost gotten hit a couple of times. One time some bitch in an SUV slammed on her breaks to avoid blowing a red light and almost hit me. I didn't kick it, but I yelled at her. Of course she was on a cell phone.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

That was definately the right thing to do!!! When it comes to people and stop signs expecially in a small neighborhood they dony care at all. There is a stop sign at the end of my block that allows opening for my alley way that opens up to a park. People blow it all the time like it is not even there. I i saw a little girl get hit by a car for blowing through that same sign as she was crossing with her bike. They are there for a reason, so you should have hit him as well so he can know how it feels.

You dont need a reason to ride, just gas money and lots of time.

A few years ago, a similar thing happened to me. I don't know what happened to me, something popped in my head. I jumped up on the hood of his convertible (top down) and did the Irish jig on his hood while he looked up at me in horror. I'll bet he pays better attention now.

If I had my kid in my arms, you better believe I would have done the same thing.

Funny thing is that I also have always experienced by driving by people on BMW SUV's... when I see one coming on the road, I freaking get away as fast as possible. Don't know why but it seems that most of the people that own one, should not even have a drivers license. Maybe they just buy their drivers license.

I dont know if I would have kicked the car, considering the disadvantage u are in, she/he in the car, u just standing there. plus remember the lady from NY that backed up her MBENZ SUV into crawd, she only gat 2 years for that, if not less. now she is supposed to write a [email protected]#@ book about, isnt life grant? plus cop told me at the driving school something interesting, if he pulled out his gun and killed somebody with it in the class room he would get life sentence, but if he was to wait till class ends, get in his car, and simply drive his car into that same person in the parking lot killing him/her, he would get 5, or so years, depends who's his lawyer, so WATCH OUT, and remeber U will lose against a 4 ton vehicle, wheather be it you alone, or on the bike for that matter, unless u caring then its a different story

This time of year doesn't help. Everyone has to get to the store and get gifts, and they are the meanest M Fers out there. People need to learn not to speed in parkinglots, unless the store is closed and you want to do donghnuts in the parkinglot. I love it when i walk to my car and before I get in it, I have 3 people waiting for me to leave my spot before I even close my door, and then I can't get out because of them. And these people will run your ass over to get a spot too. It's unreal.

With a kid in my hands I probably wouldn't of done anything. But I've been known to jump on a few hoods when morons blow signals downtown on my walk to the train. Umbrellas always do lots of damage too.

My daughter was sleeping, that's why I was carring her, but believe me I thought of that when it happened. I also admit I have "rolled" threw some stop signs, but I cover the break, but not blow them completly and speed in a parking lot; where people and kids run out. This person had coffee in one had and a cell in the other and foot on the gas looking stright. People DON'T pay attetion where I live also, they blow stop signs like they aren't even there and all of thier cars must have defects, because the turn signals don't work. I know you're not tring to stur up anything and I'm not either, I see your point. I don't have a bike, but I know most of you people on here do, and I know you constanly have to watch for a$$hole all the time, and your eyes are always moving, not looking in one direction. And if you're wondering why I'm on here, look at my profile And also being on here open my eyes to bikers and I have more respect for all of you.

I sounds like the fact that these assholes were so oblivious to the situation and didn;t appoligize for nearly hittign you.

I ask this:

If the person who hit you IMMEDIATELY rolled down the window or stepped out to appoligize, would you give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to a dumb mistake, or still pound theri car in???

In both situations I read.... I agree,

You were completely in the right! It's one thing to blow a stop sign when it out in the middle of nowhere, but not where there is pedestrian traffic. Keep on kickin' on!!!
