I placed the order for one on Apple.com on Sunday. It said it was delayed by a week, but it shipped today with an expected delivery of the 24th.

I know that does not help you, so here is something that will. Buy one with higher memory and cellular (more expensive) they have them in stock at Apple in Old Orchard. We all know you are a CLSB baller, so don't be a CLSB cheapskate. LOL

Why the mini and not the Full Size? -Never understood that unless for a small child at which point I recommend the Kindle Fire

My reason was that it is for my mother in law. It is lighter and be easier for her to handle. I have the full ipad2. CP might have his own reasons.

Gotcha - I would tend to think that for someone older, the larger screen may be better? - Either way, she will dig it.

Good on ya man

She has a laptop with a screen larger then most desktops, so this is more for portability. Thanks.

This is for my kid. She doesn't need all that memory, just something to work on occasionally. We might just get her the Otterbox case and tell her the friggin ipad is on backorder. Merry Christmas!

get the 32G. 3-4 gigs get used by the OS and apps.i.e. the 32g has over twice the storage than the 16g.

So far the only ones I've seen in stock right now are the 64gigs, and I'm not popping for that one for the 12 year old.

You are pretty much screwed for a 16 GB version. I ordered mine for my wife over a month ago, it took 2 weeks to get here from China.

the full size with retina display is not much more! Step up! I contemplated the mini, it's just an awkward size. Went with the full size. Wife got jealous so I had to buy her one too. She's getting it for xmas. shhhhhhhhhh! LOL

Jana has the full size one, and Dani wants the mini, so I figured whichever one works best for certain things we have them both.
