Finally, some common sense gun control measures

Obama: 'Weapons designed for theater of war have no place in a movie theater'

Here are the key points in the plan, which President Barack Obama announced at the White House today:
  • Background checks on all gun sales
  • Reinstatement of the expired assault weapons ban
  • A 10-round limit on ammunition magazines
  • Reinstatement of CDC research into the causes and prevention of gun violence
  • Protecting police officers by banning armor-piercing bullets through a manufacture and import ban
  • Providing resources to allow schools to hire 1,000 "school resource officers"
  • Providing mental health coverage in health insurance plans

You better be nice to America or we will bring democracy to your country.

Works for me. Glad that's finally behind us. Guessing it's going to get pretty quiet on the boards now that this is no longer an issue.

Maybe we can even start talking about motorcycles again?

Baby steps though.

and we will still see massacres - maybe the next one will be with a old ww1 bolt action rifle just to shut up the pundits - Charles whitman did a pretty good bang up job with a trusty bolt action - 14 people!

We will never stop this kind of thinking!

At 6:45, Whitman began typing his suicide note, a portion of which read:

I do not quite understand what it is that compels me to type this letter. Perhaps it is to leave some vague reason for the actions I have recently performed. I do not really understand myself these days. I am supposed to be an average reasonable and intelligent young man. However, lately (I cannot recall when it started) I have been a victim of many unusual and irrational thoughts.[36]

I agree with the background check, provided its the $2 cost that has been proposed.

Magazine limits will do nothing. I carry a compact pistol that has a 15 round magazine. So many weapons will be affected by this, it's going to be a hardship on all gun owners with semi-auto pistols and rifles.

This is an Obama plan, Americans have something else in mind.

Sandy Hook was staged. There, I said it.

It wasn't staged. My parents friends lost their grandson in the shooting. Now is the media, and the president using it to push their antigun agenda. For sure!

There are so many kids out there with mental health issues and the percentage of the ones that go wacko is so minute. The "Might have gotten this kid help" is bullshit. It's "lets feel good legislation". Gun control doesn't do shit. We have laws against drugs, and over 39,000 people died last year. Thats over 6 times the amount of people killed by guns. Come on... Circular logic is circular...and I'm not even sure this is a circle?

So - you're saying we shouldn't be concerned with mental health care?

Gotcha. I like your style. Let's let em run free - then issue tags each season when they're in rut and see how many we can get!

Being a sick fuck, killing lots of kids, yesterday's news and dead does that. Not everything is a conspiracy.

Dave man why is it lately every thread about guns that pops up you always mention you carry a gun? Seriously I think everyone on the board knows you compensating with it for that little package given to you at birth

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

Yeah it "might," the chance is slim. This has to be handled at home or it's unstoppable no matter what the laws are. In the 50's people like this were locked up and kept out of society. Now they are just medicated and live amoung us. We are too PC to ever lock them up again.

No substance on Obama's part, but whats new? This is political grandstanding using kids as the background. Pathetic.

The Government will soon control the doctors and the doctors "opinion" will control who gets a gun license. All this even though one is more likely to be be killed by fist, feet or clubs, hammers and knives. (or if you prefer: drunk drivers or medical malpractice). Just wait until one of you has a verbal argument with a parking attendent or a TSA worker for groping you or your child and you get the "red card" pulled on your ass by your government. This is how it works. You give them an inch and they take a foot.
