Which procesor/board is better for gaming

Hey guys and gals, I am not too familiar with the Intel to AMD spec comparision. I was wondering if any of the hardwware gurus out there could give me their 2cents about which combo would be best for gaming.

Intel Pentium 4/ 2.8C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe 800FSB motherboard

or

AMD Athlon XP 3000+ "Barton", 400 FSB, 512K Cache
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe NForce Ultra 400FSB motherboard

The graphics card will be a 128MB DDR - either Nvidia or Radeon, haven't decide yet.

Thanks

I have a buddy who swears AAA is the only way to go.

Asus
Amd
Ati.

I agree on only 2 of them.

You will be extremly happy with either of those 2 set ups you mentioned.

Also....do you plan on doing wireless internet connection??? If not, there is no need for the Deluxe-E version of the AMD board, you can get the regular Deluxe board and save yourself $8.
