So who is at work today?

you ever wonder why corprate america is so eager to give you the day off after thanks giving, but not the day after christmas?

would it have anything to do with the day after thanks giving is the BIGGEST SHOPPING DAY of the year? hell yeah thats why. They dont give a shit about you or your family life its all about the almighty dollar. You know when i started working full time some 15 years ago, you always got the day after christmas (or christmas eve off depending on where christmas fell) and your company always gave you something. Now you have to work and your company gives you nothing, but an email that pretty much says be thankfull you have a job and thanks for being our slave.

I spent yesterday without my wife who had to work, I understand why she has to work, shes a nurse, helping people who need help, it sucks that im here at work today phones not wringing well except for one customer, they would work christmas if people would allow it, while my wife has the day off and is spending time with family.

By the way santa was very good to me!

lol.......don't count on it. I'm sparing people of my stories this year. Trust me though I had a couple of mishaps, but at least I didn't end up in the hospital this year.

Yeah, I knew I didn't inherit the full curse Brian. All my limbs seem to be in working order. Mine was more a sitcom-esque xmas. Car blew up north of Madison on the way to see the family Wednesday night. Spent the holiday in a roadside dump of a motel waiting for a ride.

Worst part is the car is still up there waiting for a shop to open! Argh... Oh well. At least I get to work today. That makes it all better! ...errr, yeah.

Did make out well with Mr. Claus this year too! Must've been a productive year up at the North Pole. What was everyone's favorite present? I got a steam cleaner to help the carpets recover from my puppy.

yeah that does kinda stink. i mean its like you go in for a couple of hours then go home then come back for a couple more.

i would hate a split shift like that.

as far as presents goes tho:

i got another 4 parts of a Chineese gangster flick i really like on dvd. that bring the total up to like 9 or 10 dvds for this story line.

got some $$, and some new skivvies.

I'm at work, too.

But, since the company insisted that I be in today, I'm spending my time very wisely. For example...cruising the Net, window shopping on EBay, reading magazines and listening to my CDs that I got for Christmas.

I didn't get anything form my fiancé, and I didn't get for her either. Money is tight and we're saving for the wedding, but everyone else got me stuff. I got Motorola walkie-talkies for camping and they go up to 5-mile range and 6 Mag lights, don’t ask me why everyone got us 6 of them, but they are cool and will last forever. My daughter got a lot. She really makes out, she has her mom's and her side and my side and my fiancé’s side gave her stuff too. I wanted to make sure she got stuff before me. Besides when I get married in May, that's my Present!

Damn! The XV1100's? I've got 2 in the for-sale forums!

Need 2 more to make it an even foursome?

On another off topic (we really need a Christmas thread!), I had a surplus of crappy presents this year (got about 3 of those el-cheapo leatherman knock off tools). SO, I am starting a bag of that stuff so I don't have to buy presents for random birthdays throughout the year.
