I don't get how he blew the tires loose, there's plenty of cars making that much power that don't do that on a dyno.

If a dyno is rated to a certain amount of horsepower, and a vehicle making more horsepower than what the dyno is rated for makes a pull, I believe that this is what happens. There are other factors that can cause this such as tire pressure/condition/type?(Don't know about running slicks on a dyno)

I believe this is also why 1300-1500 hp cars don't/can't make a pull on a dyno.Not many can handle them.

Also, the rate at which he spun up the tires could have not allowed the drums to keep up as well.
