New Year's Resolutions

Well, it is that time of year again. What is everyone putting on their 2004 Resolution list? My big one from 2003 was to weigh 170lbs by the end of the year. Yes, skinny ass little Lupi made that one. Just ask Champ, I am sure he is sick of me obsessing over it lately!

In any event, here it is: Lupi's 2004 New Years Resolutions:
1. Pay bills

2. Be faster than Champ by the end of the '04 season.
2a. Do it without crashing & killing myself.
2b. Get into NESBA "I" while I am at it.

3. Weigh 180-185lbs.

4. Start working out.
4a. So I can make it through a track day without being killer sore.
4b. So I don't get a huge tummy, looking like a weeble-wobble would be bad.

5. Buy a Condo/Townhouse

6. Pay bills

Ciao,
Lupi

New Years Resolution from swerve:

1) Win the Illionois Lotto!
2) Put 9,000 more miles on each bike as I do every year.
3) Travel to more track days outside of the Mid-West region. (I want to race more tracks)
4) Win Mega Million's!
5) I always wanted to race the 250 class so I think I am going to shoot for that this year as well.

1) Change my design rate from $75.00 to $100.00 an hour plus 10% of total project cost ( I have to pay for a kid going to college)

2) Get lean

3) NOT GOING TO DO ANY FREAKING TRACK DAYS NO MATTER HOW ATTEMPTED I GET!! Next thing you know, I'll think I'm Ernie and be doing them every weekend

4) Try to get my wife into riding.

5) Try to make more bike nights at Strats, I only did two in 2003.

6) Try to arrange a "Breakfast Club" ride every weekend.

7) Try not to lose my temper and keep my smart ass remarks to myself.

8) Get some kind of hi speed connection at home.

9) Actually learn how to use a computer

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

1. Make it to some bike nights at Strat's
2. Find a new job where I don't have to work until 7 (see #1 )
3. Shoot more (only made it to the range a few times), and get the wife comfortable with the pistols.
4. Shop around my tax refund to get the most possible $$$ back; "reinvest" it in a decent bike.
5. Be more patient with my wife, as she is in law school and can be, um, difficult to deal with at times.
6. Spend more time training the dog, work on getting him at least 1 certification, preferably schutzhund 1.

I think thats it for now.

I have but 3 resolutions.

1. To never make a New Year's resolution from this day forth.

2. To round up all the newbies who decide to flood the health club at the beginning of the year and kick them the hell out. Several reasons for this.

a. They hog the machines. Even if someone's resting and you ask to use it, they say they'll be done in 'a few minutes'. There's a sharing concept you asswipe!

b. They don't know what they're doing. Most of the newbs walk in and do exercises that make even my back start hurting. Horrific form, bad exercise selection, and so on. At least half of the newbs who join every year in January would get a more complete and safer workout by continuing watching TV and running the microwave. Why? For starters just walking into a health club does not make you healthier. Walking around for an hour or two mindlessly while doing random exercises doesn't equate to a workout. And finally...talking on the cellphone, even when you're holding it up to your ear does not constitute exercise. And wtf is up with the cell phones anyway? Can't people be without contact for 1 flipping hour in a day?

c. They wont last anyway. I know this from working as a personal trainer and nutritionist (1 day a week now though). 4 out of 5 people who do that new years thing of joining a club won't make it. In my company I'd go so far as to say that 5/5 won't make it, but that's a different story. In any case, these folks will go and crowd the club for a month or...god forbid...two, and you'll never see them again. So why bother.

Solution: If you're joining a club to do the bike or treadmill I say to simply go outside and run. The air is better and you're better off outside without treadmill assistance. Or simply ride your bike around. If you're going to the club for all the fancy machines...well there's about 500 exercises I can give anyone that will work every muscle without having to work a machine. Learn to run and do a couple sit-ups and push-ups before spiffing out on that Platinum Membership.

3. And my final resolution is to have more sex and shoot my gun more. Not necessarily at the same time, but I'm open to the idea.

*bump*

1.) Play guitar more. Creative, fun, and I've got $3K in gear sitting unused in the third bedroom. Goal is 30 minutes a day/ 5 days a week. Whichever of the four guitars I feel like playing that day.

2.) Pay off the car/bike credit card. Should be able to do that by late spring. Hurry up house refinance!!

3.) Race plastics for Pokey. Probably keep the headlight and whatnot since the bike is too much fun for just the track.

4.) Avoid getting stupid/obnoxiously drunk. I'm the worst drunk, best to avoid it. I'm running out of women in the area to piss off.

5.) Find a suitable gym. Looking at the rec center in my town, mainly because it's close, relatively cheap, and should be damn near empty because most opt to pay monthly at Bally's. All I need is some weights and a treadmill. AFter the accident, I really need to get some muscle back on. 220 on the Army PT test is unacceptable for me.

Soon to be ex-wife?? I have one of them, no fun dude. I'm glad mine is an ex-wife and not soon to be. I now can admit I married for the wrong reason. I got her knocked up, and married her, don't get me wrong, I love my daughter so much and she is my world. I'm getting married again in May, I know it's for the right reasons!!!! Good luck and if you need any help or advise, let me know. If you have kids, I have suggetions.

Now for my New Year Resolutions, Get fit before the wedding, cook more at home, keep the house neat (I'm so lazy at times), start playing guitar again and maybe get another band started, get the painting business going, and get my debt paid off.
