I've had snowmobiles in my family since I could remember. Every time I get on one I end up in the hospital.

Sold my in 2001. Ever since WI enacted the 55mph speed limit at night, the morons now come out during the day. When some assmunch blasts past me doing a buck something within 2 ft of me on a narrow trail when I'm doing 40, thats enough.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Going up with some buddies for a bachelor party this weekend and renting sleds (Thunder Bay area). I haven't been on a sled in a LONG time. Any suggestions? I hear it's a mix of waverunnin and dirtbikes. I wanna beat the hell out of it, but come home without a cast.

All riding tips welcome. Bonus points if you know the area and can suggest some places to go!

Have fun and be safe. Advise...stay to the right on the trails (obvious) and be careful around corners (ice). Also get your self some warm snowmobiling gloves, jacket, bibs, boots...and helmet with breath deflection. Otherwise you will fog up...not fun. I have an electric shield that acts like a car's rear window defogger. However I do not think that rental sleds have that. If the rental place has clothing and helmets to rent for snowmobiling you may want to consider it? Good luck!
