how do u guys use to fight razor burn?

My neck breaks out bad a few days after i shave, i use quality mac 3 triple blade razor, nuetrogena shaving cream and aftershave.

I just used a single blade because i heard that less blades = less bumps and that thing chewed the sheeeit outta my neck while i was shaving.

How do u deal with sensitive skin?!?!

i have a baby face, and when ever i shave up i get tore up.

i use an OLD saftey razor (its those single drop in blades) at best i shave down and sideways, but NOT a total gotta get every spec of root of hair off. thats when my face gets tore up. other then that i dont use after shave, anything with alcohol will burn and then get bumpy.

and i use gell with aloe for cream.

If you rub an ice cube over your face/neck after shaving helps with razor burn.

I think those bumps are caused by the hair trying to grow back out of the skin at an angle. ??? Or from bacteria getting into the pore while shaving. ??? Anyway, wash your face before you shave. Then shave. Then wash your face a few times a day for a few days, paying attention to the area that gets bumpy. It either loosens up the hair if it isn't growing out straight or it keeps bacteria from infecting the pore. After washing, use a moisturizer on the area that gets bumpy. THIS IS A TOTAL GUESS, but it works for me. This also works on the legs you fucken girl!

Whenever I shave outside of the shower it burns like hell and I get bumbs. When I shave in the shower everything is fine. I think the steam from the shower gets the skin ready for shaving. I think it works like how they put the hot towel on your face. I wash my hair, then my face, and then I shave(I'll leave out the rest, I don't want to get the girlies all hot and bothered). Although I have tried the towel and it doesn't help. Having one of those fogless mirrors helps a lot. I can even shave without gel if it's only one day's growth. good luck!

My sentiments exactly JoJo.

I have a baby face and shaving ALWAYS burns, bleeds, and gives the bumps UNTIL i started shaving in the shower.

Take a shower, wash the hair or do whatever it is you do in there and then lastly put on the shaving cream and shave away. Just do it last so the steam opens up the pores. If i feel like i put on the after shave in the shower as well and if i knick or bleed in a spot i will put an ice cube on it and bam-------a nice smoothe face with no blood on the collar!

Yeah that fogless mirror does work, speaking of that, mine seemed to get up and walk off though, guess i should buy a new one. I always used to shave right after the shower.

Shave in the shower (after washing your hair). I haven't had razor burn in a few years except for when I change blades. I LOVE the Mach 3 razor, but new blades tear up my skin. After 2-3 uses, it's all good though.

this is what i think (and i could be wrong....but its my theory). I think you get the bumps if you shave outside of the shower from being cold. when you splash the water on your face and neck, it gets cold and you the bumps are kinda like goose bumps. if you shave while in a hot shower though, you don't feel cold.
like i said, this is my own theory, so i could be wrong...but it kinda does make sense.
oh yeah, and i use a mach 3 turbo.

Me neither. I don't even use a mirror. I usuall just hit the sideburns before I get in the shower dry. Then I shave the rest with a Mach III turbo in the shower. All I use for cream is clearasil face wash. Always shave down or sideways, never up. You should be fine.

I don't use shaving cream, or a mirror (I touch up my sideburns once I'm out of the shower.) You get used to it after a month or so. You can easily tell where you've shaved, and where you haven't by just feeling your face. (not trying to be a smartass there) I go with the grain, against the grain... doesn't matter as long as the blade runs perpendicular to the direction it's cutting. Learn your face and which direction works best for which area. For example... I have to shave against the grain on my cheeks, but with the grain on my chin/upper lip.

You can get an anti-fog mirror at Wal-Mart, Bed Bath & Beyond, or any similar store. Expect to pay $12-$19. I bought one, never installed it... eventually gave it to my Dad who uses it every day. They work as advertised.

No really..., Electric is good. I had/have crappy skin. I used to see a dematologist who put me on treatment of Accutane years ago and he shifted me to electric. Blades take off a layer of skin and irritate the skin. Electric doesn't. You just need a couple of weeks to get used to the hair being pulled up by the razor as it cuts. The Norelco triple header works best for me. Just don't get lazy and forget to regularly clean (every week or so) and annually change the blades.

Mach 3 razors are the way to go, but is anyone else pissed off how expensive they are. Seems like razor cartridges have doubled in price the last couple of years!!
