Jamaica sucks. Go to Texas. North of Houston is nice this time of year. And the chicks are CUTE.

i gotta be honest, i was in jamaca for 2 days, and after going into the city, i wanted to get the hell out, dirty, very poor area, and they hassle you more then some of the bad places in mexico.

other then that if you go to the sandles resort, STAY there, dont go venturing out.

Went to Jamaca and stayed at an all inclusive resort called Breezes in Runaway bay. I thought it was great and alot cheaper than Sandles. Alot of these places let you go scuba diving and I highly reccomend it. We only ventured off the resort once to a waterfall. It was actually a series of small waterfalls that they actually have you climb up.

Breezes (due to the all-inclusive) was food and drink pretty much 24 hours a day. And noone will even accept tips. I asked a manager why and they said it is one of the highest paid jobs on the island and they will be fired if they accept the tip. Meals were served on the beach in a covered walless bldg.

We had a great time!

I stayed at the Half moon resort. all inclusive. we had a bugalo right on the beach, very nice, but expensive. Its a great place to have people cater to your every need. But don't think about going outside the gates

I got offered drugs as soon as I was in the parking lot at the airport. There is trash everywhere, goats tied to trees, kids running around barefoot. drivers are nuts. A car passing us on the outside of a corner ran a motorcycle cop off the road. nobody cared.

I am already aware of the "dirtyness" and all that. I was just curious on some resort names and what your experiance has been. I looked into some online reviews of some of the resorts, and I can't be sure that the resort wrote the review. Some were really good, but others were really bad... like ants in the room, no clean towels, food was cold, etc. I am doing the all inclusive thing, and two of the resorts I looked at included unlimited rounds of golf, (carts additional). But I wondered if anyone had anything good or bad to say about certain resorts. Joe says Breezes huh? And Ducman says Half Moon... anyone else?

Been there twice. Both times I stayed at the Renaissance Jamacia Grande Resort in Ocho Rios. One of the cheaper all inclusives on the island. But it's close to the Dunns River Falls and is situated on a peninsula so if it's windy one day you can swim in the bay instead of the ocean. Definitely recommended but what the others have already stated, don't leave the resort grounds after dark unless you're going on an escorted tour. During the day it's ok to head out as long as you stay on the main roads (i.e. shopping/ dining areas) there's plenty of visible police/ military presence. Other than that, common sense prevails, if something doesn't look right it's probably not. Nevertheless I still had a great time and would go back.

That's why I say Hawaii is worth the money. No beggars, no drugs, & you could probably walk around at 3am with gold bars hanging from your shoulders and you'd be safe. The coffee's unbeatable, and fresh pineapple is out of this world.

How about you pay, and I'll go with ya? Why don't you take the rest of the board, too?!
