Rode 300 miles this weekend!!!

Got to take the new sled out for a little ride this weekend. Rode 300 miles in the Keewena (sp?) in the U.P....what a great time! Conditions were awesome...too many other sleds riding there as well...trails were a little rough. Good thing I have this new Ski-doo, it handles the rough stuff like a dream. It was good to go for a ride...on something.

Shiny side up, rubber side down.

I hope you get snow by then...I think conditions in northern WI are kind a thin right now. Looks like a huge storm is going through that area in the next couple of days...hopefully the snow will stay around for you (and more continues to fall).

I love riding in the UP...I like it better than Wisconsin. The UP has more "play areas" that you can get off trail and bust some powder. However the signs that tell you information on the trail, like direction, gas, food...etc seems to be better in Wisconsin. It's been several years since I've riden in Wisconsin. Partially because the last time I rode there I got a ticket for lack of registration (pissed me off) and that there has not been much snow in recent years.

Best wishes for good conditions...ride safe!

We were up north of Eagle River this past weekend on rented sleds. The snow was light, but came down steady the whole time we were there. Plenty to have fun on (maybe 4-6 total by Sunday?). They just had some national event up there. Tons of folk around.

My buddy owns 400+ acres in Michagamee MI. (U.P.). He was up over the weekend sledding and told me his roof had over 3' of snow on it. Took him all day to shovel it off.

He complains about the trails between his place and Ishpemming NOT getting enough traffic.

Style is the excuse used by those who have neither the nerve or the intelligence to live their own lives.

www.thunderbayresort.com I think. It was a Bachelor party weekend and 16 of us were complete wrecks. The host(s) Jim and Rochelle were super cool. They took care of the sled rentals etc. and made us feel right at home. Cost wasn't too bad either. $50ish a man for the rooms, and $140 for the 24 hour sled rental. Let me know if you need more info and I'll dig it up for you at some point.

Wow that thunderbayresort looks nice! I gotta get my ass to the UP and enjoy some of that powder but I heard that there isn't many small lakes to ride on in the U.P. is that right?

As long as Wis. has snow, its great there, good variety of trails and lakes and umm bars.

Trey,

Another good web site to checkout for snow conditions and areas that are snowmobile friendly...check out www.johndee.com. If you explore the site it gives weather reports for snow. Check out the N.C.N link and check out all the web cams that show snow conditions. Another site that is good is www.skyviewlodge.com. The guy who owns the lodge in Presque Isle, WI does a trail ride on his snowmobile and posts it so you can see the conditions. The sites will have other links to lodging and snowmobile rentals etc. It should keep you busy exploring for a while. Have fun.

Shiny side up, rubber side down.
