Cell phone question---

I have a POS Nokia on the cingular network. The phone is GSM with sim card. Now i see some cell phones i would like to buy off ebay. The phone (S) are "unlocked" "gsm" and ready for "Cingular"/att&t/TMobile.

My question is ---I called Cingular today and she told me the phones may not work since they are from a different location. Hence forth L.A. or N.Y. But i could always go into a Cingular store and purchase a new phone for full price.

I Think they could be full of shit and just trying to get me to buy one of their phones. Although I could be dead wrong. If i am wrong then why do they sell so many phones on ebay that are unlocked (but noted as Cingular / AT&T / T-Mobile only)

Please help me sort this crap out!!

Thanks.....

Now i am looking at the Motorola V60G & or the T720.

INPUTS????

SBC owns half of Cingular and as I work as SBC I have contacts at Cingular that may be able to help. Send me an email at my work email address below with your Cingular telephone number and what you would like Cingular to do for you and I have someone work on this for you.
