All-inclusive, baby!

I'm thinking of taking an all-inclusive vacation (one of those Sandals/Hedonism type places) but I know NOTHING about them. Can you guys either:

Tell me if they suck or are awesome

Point me to a site that has REAL people's reviews

Make fun of me

(I don't need the airfare I have 2 free tix)

May I suggest going to www.orbitz.com They have Sandals vacations with great prices.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I'm going to one in the Mayan Riveria, Mexico in February. It's an adult only resort called the El Dorado Royale. I've never been to an all inclusive resort before, so this will be my first. My wife and I usually go on cruises, but decided to try something different.

I'll let you know how it is when I get back.

riviera maya is great. i've been to the iberostar del mar and going back in may to iberostar paraiso lindo. all inclusive is the shit, especially if you get a good resort. booze and eat all day. if you wanna make your ol' lady happy take her to Xcaret for the day, good tourist fun. or be like me and spend all day at the swim up bars.

I went 1 and a half years ago to Egypt, Sharm El Sheikh. It was a 5star resort and a lot of fun. It is so different in an all-inclusive resort than staying in a hotel. People usually are more open and approachable and a lot of activities are usually offered. I sometimes had trouble doing all the stuff that I wanted to do, because so much was offered. I really enjoyed it and would recommend trying it at least.
My only complaint would be that the food was not up to par to a comparable hotel. But hey at least you can drink as much as you want.

Thanks for all your input!

Keep in mind that I am 23 and can't spend like 10 grand on this.

I have looked into Sandals and Hedonism III and those two look awesome... anyone ever been to those?

I did an all inclusive in Cabo San Lucas-- that place was awesome. However, the bars in Cabo are too fun to pass up-- so if you go down there you'll have to spend some $ outside of the resort.

I have always had good luck with travel agents. It pays to find one you like and use him/her year after year.

I'm going all inclusive at the Oasis in Cancun for spring break. I'll let you know how it is.

Oh also, my dad went to an all inclusive resort place in Jamaica with his girlfriend and loved it. Definitely the way to go.

I have been to Sandals. It is awesome. We did all inclusive and it was best vacation wife & I have ever had. My aunt and uncle went to the Riviera Maya and they said that was the best place they have been too. They have taken many cruises and international vacations but loved that place the most... good luck..get into the sun...

I was there 2 years ago. Frickin rocked. Eat and pre-booze at the hotel. Pay 30cents for the bus, then 20 bucks at the club for all you can drink

hahahahhaha, dick! no tshirt. I was still smoking then, I had one of those water proof necklace things that holds a pack of smokes. The bars had shade, no spf needed. Just swim up, fire up some cancer sticks and get hammered.

going back since quitting the tar sticks just wont be the same.
