Need some USB Thumb drive help

I have a Lexar Jumpdrive and a laptop running Windows 98 SE. It is not seeing the Jumpdrive when it plugs in th the USB port. I have herd that Win 98, and earilier OS have problems with these thumbdrive type devices. I know the Port in the laptop is working, and the Jump drive works when put in to my Win 2000 rig. Anyone herd of a fix for this problem?

Find out what the USB Device is using. Your puter might now have USB 2.0 drivers which means you need to download them. Best solution go to Lexar(are you sure that is the name) and download the drivers. The device should be recognized every time after that.

what you need to do is go to Lexar website and download the driver. The driver thats on the jumpdrive. maynot work with 98os it`s probably not auto supported with the jumpdrive. there maybe a driver on the web site that may work.

Yep that is all there is to it. Need to have the driver so the "mass storage device" is recognized.
