Before i rip into it.....

SNOW BLOWER A: My snow blower started acting strange. It seems like when i have the engine speed all the way on rabbit and begin the Auger going any little load will cause the engine to bog down and die. As soon as i release the auger it slowly gains speed up.

The choke is auto and its a 10 hp B&S motor. So i limited the speed down to half throttle and it ran fine and di everything without bogging out.

Before i rip the carb and begin cleaning does anyone have/had a similar problem so i can attack an item before methodical process of elimination.

Just curious...........

SNOWBLOWER B: This one is odd. I have fresh gas, replaced the primer hose and the spark plug checks good. Now there is fuel getting into the bowl but it will not start. I cleaned the bowl and card but something is wrong. Any suggestions on this one before i rip her apart as well?

It may have a governor linkage that's bent or broken. When a load is placed on the engine, a gov will increase the throttle setting automatically. Check the gov & linkage if it has one.

How long did you let it run before using it? if it's a few seconds after starting it, it probably has carb ice in the venturi. if this is the case, let it idle so the engine heat will melt it off, and it should run smoother.

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"
