"Why We Ride" Chi. Premiere 12/2

The first ever screening of the new motorcycle documentary "Why We Ride" in Chicago is this Monday at the AMC 21 downtown. It's sold out but, there is another screening in the offing if the tickets get sold...see their website for details.
I have not seen this but I will be in attendence on Monday. I'm wondering if any others from CLSB are going?
One of my AMA Board colleagues saw the premiere in L.A. last month and said it was good and that any motorcycle person would enjoy it for all the same reasons they enjoyed On Any Sunday.
If you attend feel free to say hello...I'm sure I'll be the only one in attendence with an embroidered AMA logo baseball cap and a Triumph warm up jacket with leather sleeves...Always happy to meet someone from CLSB or an AMA member.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

Dec 19 in Chicago has been added.

Also Dec 23 in Rosemont with Dec 19 pending.

it's not the fall that kills you, it's that sudden stop

My review of "Why We Ride"

I liked it...it held my interest and entertained me...it even moved me a bit...I'd sit through it again. Some of the photography is fantastic and captures different aspects of riding and racing that I've not seen before on film and some of the comments from riders were important to get on film to preserve for the future, no question.......BUT...There were things that left me disappointed...the film makers could have done so much more!!!...There is a very BIG country east of the Rockies where alot of motorcycling gets done besides just Sturgis and Daytona.
As I said...I liked it...I'd see it again and probably will ( Dec. 23 @ MUVICO in Rosemont) but, it is definately NOT a new age "On Any Sunday" ...it comes close here & there but, Bruce Brown's iconic tome is still the king of the hill when it comes to motorcycle documentary films!

FYI...If you wanted to see this movie and couldn't, I received an email that it's now available on DVD through Amazon "...just in time for the holidays."
As I said...I enjoyed it. I'll likely add it to my collection.

If you haven't seen this yet DO IT!!! Took my wife, Deb and daughter Tiffany to see it last night in Kennesaw Ga and we all loved it. If you have been a rider for any length of time you will see yourself in it. Not literally but just as a biker. If you tour, commute, race or just ride with friends you will know it is talking about you.
