Banquet Halls in the north burbs

Calling all hitched! After much groveling I was finally able to turn my GF into a fiancé . Now the hunt begins for a venue. For those that tied the knot or attended a wedding in the Chicagoland area, where was it and how was the experience?

we had a bad ass place in Aurora called Long Island Sound.

The room we had was huge and it had an open top shelf bar on the right side for the brides family and an open top shelf bar on the left for my family. and not just a portable stand. this was a real bar on each side!

too bad that they closed a year or so ago. finding a venue is so damn hard and EXPENSIVE!!!

we paid like 13K for it alone

A little more south but Double Tree in Skokie, or Rosewood in Rosemont or William Tell in Countryside.

Not north burbs but just had the reception at the 95th Hancock in Sep. Price was on par or even cheaper with many of the other nicer suburban venues and they threw in a bunch of freebies (premium bar, deserts etc..) Guests were raving about the food, esp the filet. Prob not the best if your guest list is huge, but the view can't be beat hands down.

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil,

'The Light at the End of the Tunnel' has been turned off.
