Hello 1997, So Nice To See You Again

Been carrying a iPhone 5 for work and HATED it for actual work purposes - Good Messaging for Enterprise Email sucks cock - The Sync feature is horrible and the lack of notifications on the phone itself to tell me I had an email (I like the light that keeps flashing) drove me bonkers

Well, we canned some poor schmuck who was due to upgrade his work phone and he had a Blackberry Q10 come in - I snatched that sum bitch and got off the iPhone for work and am back on a Blackberry and the BES server and fuck me work has a whole new meaning and GOD DAMN do I love the real keyboard again - Flying through emails - The Coffee taste better, the white out smells better and Carol from Corp Accounts Payable is just not that annoying anymore

Never thought I would be happy about using a Blackberry again - Mind you, it is for work so all I care about is Enterprise Email, Phone an text - The Web is surprisingly fast as well - Could care less about all 12 apps that are in their App Store as I just don't need them - I have a personal iPhone 5S for that

I still have my brick phone. Works like a charm. Never bothers me with texts and no data charges either. I still believe I'm Gordon Gekko when I'm talking on the beach.

Either use EAS for your work email on the iphone or upgrade your Good server to the latest release and use iOS 7 on the iphone with the latest Good client to get background message processing.

The day my Blackberry Torch stops working will indeed be a sad day. I'm the last one on the company BES, and there are no plans to upgrade. Might even do the new one on ActiveSync when the time comes...but I'm enjoying the time I have.

Welcome back to flavor country.

Dude, we have 180K employees and like 10 Good Servers - I had them move me 3 or 4 times to different servers, had the latest Good Update on the phone and was running IOS7........still sucked

My gripe was I had to log into the Good Client on the iPhone (Security Reasons w/LONG passwords) and it would show "No New Email" until I hit "Send Receive" and then 20 emails would come flying in - There is also no light indicatior on the iPhone for ANY alerts let alone email - It is great to be back on a "Work Horse" again rather than trying to make an iPhone do something it was never really intended to do - Great Consumer based phone, shit for Enterprise work - Same with the Droids as I have many a co-woker pissed about Good on Droid - BES is just too damn solid

Give it up, Patrick. We retired our BES server a few months ago and forced those folks to get an EAS compliant device, they all love it.l

You've outed your workforce as being useless simps that are likely too inept to understand, nevermind appreciate the need for seamless handheld communications. Just because no one that you work with is important enough to be needed outside of the cube farm doesn't mean the rest of us aren't on call 24x7!

Sure your team might appreciate the simple things, like being able to download the latest candybirds game and update their facepage while they're on the can...but not me mister. No sir!

Me and my fellow most important people in the world don't take for granted the ability to type while driving...err...paying attention to the person across the desk while deftly telling our assistants to bring in four fingers of our client's favorite scotch.

You and yours can have fun lamenting to Siri about your TPS reports. The rest of us have shit to do, and we can't be bothered with second-rate consumer goods to get it done!

No need to bring Siri into this................she is a Saint

As for the rest of your Robatussin Fueled Rant (which I simply adored by the way) above........all I could picture in my head was the below which is NOT safe for work i.e language and CP, i.e means "for example"

the q10 uses BES10 on the backend, BES10 requires and rides upon EAS. Lol, sweet irony.

Pure BES is dead and gone.

- Well, maybe BES is dead and we use EAS? - Either way, this thing works better than my iPhone which we had to use Good for, Co Policy

the new BES servers require EAS and use it as a big chunk of their underlying architecture.
