Years Riding: Since about 11 years after my adult teeth came in
How you found us: I tripped over ya on my way to the can!

Tenn. River Valley (+ Dragon)

Last week I had the good fortune of spending a couple of days at the Iron Horse Resort in Stecoha North Carolina. Colleagues from the AMA and I had some work to do and took advantage of needing to get together to get in some riding. I rented a KLR 650 for a couple of days and really enjoyed the area. It was, for someone from the flat lands of Northeast IL a motorcycling paradise. We rode over a wide area including the famed Tail of the Dragon. One rider and Myself opted to let the 4 who had never ridden the Dragon do it while we waited at the restaurant/motel (and kept warm...smart move...while they rode the Dragon the sun came out and it warmed up several degrees) but, some of the other roads were just as challenging and spectacular. I'm chomping to ride more!
While having breakfast at the Iron Horse I noticed a framed tribute to Ashwin displayed on the wall. Seems the owners of the resort knew him and hosted him many times and in memory of him, hosted his family at their place. John & Charlene were great hosts and I would recommend if you're in the area stay with them.
Anyway...just posting to show that sometimes a connection to home and the familiar can be found in some unusual places...especially when riding motorcycles.
We should do a ride what you brung CLSB ride to some of the twisties close by like in western IL or SW Wisconsin.................Slimey Crud anyone?

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!
