We are seeking a Workshop Technician to join our team in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Job Duties Include:

The Workshop Technician performs routine, preventative maintenance and repairs on oil-injected and oil free air compressors. Preventative maintenance should be conducted in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations (with regards to schedule and scope). They troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on malfunctioning compressors, determine possible causes for malfunctions and perform repairs as suggested by diagnostics and assessment. Prior to and following preventative maintenance and repairs, the Workshop Technician tests and documents the proper operating parameters of the compressor.

Additional Responsibilities:

Prepares condition reports on units that are coming into the shop including return and rental equipment. Preventative maintenance and repairs should be done on the return and rental equipment. They are expected to repair the vacuum pumps that are sent in for repair.

Delivers rentals to local customers and special tools to jobsites as needed.

Serves as an ambassador for the company.

Promotes and practices proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment at all times.

80% of the time spent in the Workshop where some small jobs can be done and 20% of the times is spent in the field. There is approximately 20,000 miles of local travel and air travel is 1-2 times per year.

Contributes to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional and customer-oriented image to customers.

Performs all duties in accordance with Company standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.

Takes whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.

Performs other duties as assigned, such as keeping the facility neat, tidy and well organized.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required with technical training in electrical, hydraulics, compressors and/or pneumatics preferred.

1-2 years of technical experience maintaining and repairing various types of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Able to work independently with strong self-management and professionalism.

Able to complete work within assigned deadlines.

Computer proficiency as required for communication, research, work orders and programming various controllers.

Extensive travel to customer locations, 1-2 days overnight travel a year.

Excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills.

Must be able to read and write in English.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
