Anyone play paintball?

Are the Spyder markers OK? Friend wants to get some for playing at his parents place. 33 acres of marsh/woods and field. Looking to do it relatively inexpensive.

I play paintball. Spyders are not very good in my experience; my brother had one. If yo uare looking for a cheap high quality paintball gun go with a tippmann. I got a tippmann 98 a few years ago and it has never broken down on me in the field. Besides a few balls breaking in the barrel (all guns do this, only the tippmann, in my experience does it less) the gun has been VERY reliable. Original price is important but so is looking at repair costs if something goes wrong. In my opinion you would be best off with a tippmann.

How much for the cocker? I have an automag which I love and I also have two spyders, I don't have any problems with either one. A lot of people have had different experiences with them though. I just don't like the new electric guns now that they all require batteries. I'm old school.

Cocker

I was thinking on keeping that one. You looking at 1300.00 you can get a regular one for about 400.00. Go to actionvillage.com. you like the price there. The owner bob is a good guy. Use to work for PMI years ago the company is local. Also there are some forums out there and try ebay. The Dark cockers are pricee.

I've played with an orginal Bob Long Intimidator, I loved it, saving up for a 2k2 now. Very good gun for the money.

Tippman!!! The 98 custom starts at about 150 dollars, and is the most customizable marker in the game. I love the thing and it has never let me down.

FYI, my friend wants to keep the total cost of the gun, CO2 cyl, mask and hopper to around $100. This is for playing around at his parent place. No paintball fields. If I get one, I did see the Tippman A-5 as a nice toy.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

True but you can get close to 100. If it's just for shootin around the house he doesn't need the top gun. You could always check ebay but you don't know what kind of shape the gun will be in when you get it.

Around $100, not under $100

Only way I'll buy one is if he gets a few other friends to get one also. 2 people playing paint ball gets boring.

BTW I found a Tipmann 98 package for $265D

See, Tippys are nice guns! I have a nice package(no pun intended) for cheap. Good gun, CO2, the whole bit.
