RIP - Kevin David Knight

A co-worker of mine mentioned to me yesterday that a family friend lost his life in a motorcycle accident, somewhere around the Naperville area, last weekend. This is the only link I have found concerning the rider: http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/beaconnews/obits/

There is no specific mention of the actual accident so if anyone knows anything more please advise.

Thanks.

Hans

My wife in is ICU at Good Sam and she said theres been a couple of bad ones recently. One was a guy on 75th Street between Naperville and Woodridge. I guess he wheelied away from a stoplight drag racing- looped it and was run over and killed by the car behind him.

always sad to hear these things

DeKALB - A 29 year-old Aurora man's condition remains unknown following a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon near Industrial Drive and East Lincoln Highway.

Kevin D. Knight was transported from Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb to St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford by Lifeline helicopter after he suffered severe head injuries, said DeKalb Police Chief Bill Feithen.

According to Feithen, Knight was leaving Tuf Racing Products, 1900 E. Lincoln Highway, around 2 p.m. after picking up his motorcycle from winter storage. Witnesses told police that as Knight headed west on the four-lane highway he passed a vehicle in the right lane and reached speeds of about 100 mph.

When he attempted to return to the right lane he lost control of the motorcycle and hit the curb at the northwest corner of Lincoln Highway and Cotton Avenue and was thrown from the motorcycle. Both Knight and the motorcycle traveled more than 200 feet before he came to a rest on Lincoln Highway and the motorcycle landed on Industrial Drive, Feithen said.

Knight was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
