after MUCH consideration.....

Well i guess its time.

After a lot of thinking on this and talking with the wife FOR A LONG time Its time to say bye bye to the sportbike.

I hate to do it cause its been so good to me and all and i have had alot of fun with most of you on rides. Except the dead battery at hooters!

Just wanted to share that i found a buyer and should have the money real soon (i hope) So thats all she wrote for me and my Kat........

Its probably for the better.

If what your implying is your going to be looking into a cruiser your not alone. I've come to grips with the fact that what we do doesn't belong on the streets, even if we are "riding our own ride". Believe me.....if I had the money right now I'd trade the R1 for a track ready 600 and buy me a hog.

Damn sorry to hear that man, but I understand. Got a good friend that I ride with alot who's going to propose to his woman in May, I'm assuming it won't be long before he hangs up his helmet as well (he's got plans for kids right away). But as you've seen, alot of people can balance riding and family, as long as you're ok with this I wish you all the best.

Sorry to hear that Kelly. I don’t think I’ve even been to bike night and not seen you or your Kat… but you have to do what’s best for you and your family I guess.

I hear that so many times and I just don’t get it… a motorcycle is a motorcycle, they are all dangerous, not because of the rider or type of bike, (unless you really have no self control) but more so that you are sharing the roadways with cars and plenty of bad drivers. The risk you take is still there no matter if you ride a R1, a scooter or a hog…………. but if you are implying that “group rides” are not safe, then I may have to agree with you a bit. It’s the reason I do my own rides. It's also why I go riding in the country and not downtown Chicago.

I’m sorry to see people giving up sportbikes every year with this idea that the “sportbike” is somehow responsible for all these bad things.

Ditto.

It's not the sportbike that's dangerous. It's the person riding them that makes them dangerous (or not.)

Well that is spoken like a true Chic Women all have this presumption that they can change men......Let me let you in on a little secret Men don't change because of women!!

Anna it's not so much the sportbike, it's the temptation. Your absolutely right about it being dangerous no matter what. I tell you what though.....if I had a cruiser it wouldn't even be capable of taking corners like I have before. It kind of keeps you in check. Plus the whole attitude behind it is more cruisn' and laid back. Your less likely to go out with a bunch of guys with the intent to hit some turns and drag parts on the ground.

Kelly....get what you want bro. Your the one that's gotta be happy.
