RIP Joseph Peiczykowski

He was a salesman at Honda Yamaha of Riveroaks In Lansing Illinois. I met and talked to him a few times.

Saturday (April 10th) he was out on his Gixxer 1000 blasting down 394 by Crete and a car pulled out in front of him and he couldn't stop. Witnesses say there was a skid mark over 100 feet long and the bike looked like a ball of trash. He was wearing his lid. At the speed he was going nothing could have saved him.

Joseph lost his life that day and I just want everybody to think real hard when your riding on the street. I'm no saint either, but there is a time and a place to go that fast. He was going way to fast.

RIP Joseph,

I got the goose bumps thinking about rite now.

We know you were doing something you loved when you went.

RIP bro

I would like to know if the 72 year old driver was charged? Most likely not Which is upsetting, to me. Yea sure a high rate of speed was involved in this accident, but he was doing fine until, Mr OLD Jag Driver failed to "see" him, and proceeded to drive like he owned the road, like most people in Barrington. I am guilty of high rate of speed runs also, personally I only do them in certain spots or areas where I'm very familar with the road, and there is no crossing traffic. SO think before you twist your wrist and I'll give you a piece of advice, my Dad gave me when I started street riding....."Everyone is an asshole out to kill you" Thanks Dad, your words of wisdom has kept me alive these many years.

Up until this post, I'd just say RIP.......but all that is a crock! My dad taught me a better lesson...it's called taking responsibility for your own actions. Don't do something stupid...like traveling that fast down a road with cross streets.....and you may live to see another day. Wasn't completely the cage drivers fault, not being able to judge a bike doing 100+mph in a what, maybe 45-55 zone?

Enough of that, RIP.

Basically the same thing said, different wording, I still have a problem with riders or drivers who cannot judge rate of travel, that's a very, very basic skill to riding or driving and if you lack it, you have no business being on the road.

Everytime an accident happens the dissection of what happened, how it happened, what could have been done by both parties to prevent it, I find very useful. I post up my personal thoughts to get others to post up their thoughts/gut reactions and maybe glean a tidbit of information that was overlooked, a piece of information that will someday save someones life....maybe yours, maybe mine.

I know exactly where this happened. To me, it is 100% the motorcyclist fault. Who in their right mind would fly thru an intersection(check maapquest if you don't know where this happened) at that kind of speed? When you come to a intersection you come to all the time you become use to the speeds you see cross traffic coming at you and this effects your judgement. So, if I look down the road and see someone in the "normal" distance that I usually make the right hand turn and have plenty of room, I'd take the right too. The guy on the bike should of known better to be blasting that fast thru the intersection. I think alot of us riders look twice at rate of speed because we know if we pull out and make a bad judgement call on rate of speed in might be our last. Anyway no matter how you look at it someone made their last F up. I hope you guys think real hard about flying thru ANY intersection.... even in the sticks! Like someone said before... there is a time and a place.

I couldn't agree more....... didn't this also happen at around 2:30... 2:45 in the afternoon???? On a Saturday??? That seems like some traffic to me. People shopping, driving their kids places, etc.. etc...

Regardless..... everyone does deserve to RIP. Prayers to his family and Friends....
