Hey Jack. Camera question.

I'm looking at a new digital SLR camera to replace my 80's vintage Canon AE1P (gonna put it away for safe keeping). Looked at the Nikon D70. Can get the body, 28-70mm and a 28-300mm lense in a package for $1250. It says it can take microdrive along with CF Type II cards. Maybe you can tell me on average, about how many standard size pictures can be saved on a 512K CF card? Or would it be worth the $170 for a 2.2GB microdrive card?

Looked at a Canon Rebel Digital EOS also, but theres way too many small buttons on the back.

Thanks.

I'd PM ya this, but you have PM's turned off.D

Yeah, I never check PMs so I just turned it off. As for how many fit on a card, it will depend on how you choose to shoot the images, file type, size, etc. Let's say you shoot JPEG Fine, file size average around say 1.5MB (may be a bit more) each -- ~340 shots on 512MB card.

THanks. I'm just nervous about putting my trusty 35mm on the shelf and getting a digital slr. Do the digital Nikons have the same reliability as their 35mm SLRs do? I expect it to last for at least 7-10yrs (other than battery changes)

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Yes, reliability should be similar.
