Pictures of Utica tornado

These are by far the best pictures of the tornado that struck Utica that I have seen. The pictures of the actual tornado were taken looking south into Utica from the intersection of Rt. 178 and Rt. 6. Alot of great pictures on the site.

Besides the tornado pictures, theres also some really beautiful pictures of that area on the website.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Relief Fund

Those pics really tell the story. I am glad President Bush has declared the hit counties has a disaster area so they can get some federal aid.

WLS has set up a relief fund for the Utica Tornado-

Checks are made payable to "The WLS Utica Disaster Relief Fund" and mailed to:

No wide was the one I had to outrun near Pecatonica in 91. 1/2 mile AT THE BASE!!! It ripped the blacktop off the highway I was on. They said that was a F4/5 but it luckily went through fields in teh boonies and damages only a few buildings.

I have to be one of the luckiest SOB's on the face of the Earth. I was at Duffy's Tavern that day. I left somewhere between 20 & 25 minutes before it hit. I also have 4 relatives in Utica, all of whom survived without a scratch. (I'm from downstate Streator, which is only roughly 20 miles from Utica.)

That was the same torando that hit my town a bit earlier that day. Yet it was only a f2 when it hit Granville, but still cause considerable damage. It was at least a 1/2mile from my house. I think Granville got very lucky compared to the damages of Utica...

Oh yeah, and the 8 people who died in the storm. They ran into the Duffys to seek coverage because they lived in the local Moble Home park.
