Who wants to see KISS with Poison?

Friday night, July 9 at 7:00pm @ the World in Tinley Park...

I go to Brett and the boys every year, but this year is a little extra treat. KISS will be there!! So, who all wants in? Lawn tickets are going for $22 but that's before TM gets their fair share of the pie too... So, post up if you're interested, and we can get a group buy. I have a hookup with a limo company too, not a real good one, but one nonetheless. So, we might be able to get a limo to and from the show for like $40 a person. Other options are staying in Tinley Park that night and cabbing it over there to the show (or walking). Let me know.

KISS Will they be wheeling them out on stage in their wheelchairs and setting them in rockers???? Man, I saw them at the Aragon in the 70's. They almost burned down the place.

I've seen KISS 4 times (I think). Last time was w/ Ted Nugent and some form of Skid Row. While it was better than most shows, it was still a bit of a letdown. Both Ace (main reason I have a couple grand in guitars) and Peter were noticeably off cue for their songs to sing (Ace was late to the stage and Peter wasn't around to start God of Thunder.) If I'm not doing anything that weekend, maybe, but otherwise I'll pass.

Yeah... Too many 7's in that; Friday 7/9 at 7:00. Not the 7th. Thanks Grover. I edited the original post.

There are girls everywhere begging to go with you now, Jeff.

I LOVE Poision. I even have the ORIGINAL "Open Up and Say Ahhh" cassette tape with the long tongue graphic BEFORE it was removed from shelves and redistributed in an edited format.

I also believe there's a childhgood video of me somewhere that proves I know all the words to "Something to Believe In"

Kiss..lol

I'd go, but I wouldn't want to waste 22 bucks to hear one song.

Poison is pretty cool though....

Now as for a REAL concert...well now, all you have to do is wait until August.

I can tell you this.. KISS puts on a bitchin' show. All the boy bands, pop folks, even country stars have obviously stolen concert ideas from KISS. And that doesn't count the rock bands, most of which started in some garage playing classic KISS songs.

Metallica puts on a great show too. Seen them..um, twice I think. Megadeth was pretty good to, I was bummed I never got to see them in a decent hall. Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee may look cool, but the acoustics suck. Mr. Mustaine was getting all pissed that we weren't responding to his wisecracks. All we heard was the Charlie Brown adult voice

I'm a fan, got most of Kiss' old stuff, can play various riffs/songs on the guitar, but even I say it's time for them to hang the boots up. It's better to go out on top than be remembered as money grabbing old folks. I wanted to go see them with Aerosmith (and Saliva!!!!) but I wasn't going to pay the $150 a piece ticket price.

When I saw them *cough, cough* a few years ago, they opened for T-Rex (Bang-a Gong fame) at the Aragon and tics went for $5 bucks gaeneral admission. Everyone stood around slack jawwed like WTF is this sh!t when they came on. When Simmons started breathing fire and drooling blood all over the stage the crowd really got into it. When T-Rex came on the crowd was all wound up it was kind of a let down. Ya had to feel sorry for them. It was at least another year before KISS started doing the big arena thing with all the BIG effects. So there's your daily dose of Rock n' Roll history brought to you by your on-site reporter, SloRoll.

You know, Metallica wasn't the only band that complained about file sharing on the internet...they were just the biggest. I've never heard anyone call Dr. Dre names for protesting Napster, but he was standing next to Lars during the whole thing.

When you consider the whole costs involved in making a CD, it's more than just a .19 cent cost vs a 15 dollar sale. They have producers, executives, promoters and an unlimited army of other people with their hand out to be paid. Watch a VH1 'Behind the Music' story sometime on how artists are paid next to nothing for their album (TLC is a great example)

I don't really care either way..I understand the artists' viewpoint but it doesn't stop me from downloading the occasional song. Well...not Metallica. I happen to be a big enough fan to actually purchase all their CD's (and other ungodly expensive items) so I've no need for their stuff.

I hope you mean 'boys' as in 'males'. They've been making music since 1981 which would make their current fans somewhere between 25 and 45.

And uh, I think because they are (or were) a metal band that would be the reason. Other than Metallica, I've never heard much female fans of Slayer, Sepultura, Anthrax, Danzig or any other metal band you can think of.

I meant boys as in "not girls." I'm not trying to ruin anyone's sense of manliness.

concerts

Talk about 80's bad hair bands trying to make a come back. The current lady friend has been following the Van Halen ticket sale info like flys on s*!t. I just found out she spent well over $100 for just 2 tickets in some internet presale. Why, I just don't know? So, being the nice guy that I am I HAVE TO go to this "rock" concert. Don't get me wrong though, there once was a time for this kind of music. Late 80's - early 90's, but the last time I checked it was 2004 right?

DAVID

DID I LOG ONTO CLSB OR TMZ.COM WTF???
