Earache, my cell number is 708.205.0467 give me a call and maybe we can get together for a run. Look for a flock of blackbirds roasting up 129. By the way I am staying the Microtel in Robinsville.

Look out for the CSBA!

Christian Sport Bike Association
East Coast Rally at
DEAL'S GAP, NC

May 10 thru 16, 2004

Join us for the CSBA's "original" rally, the one that started it all,

in the den of the dragon, Deal's Gap, NC.

The 2004 East Coast Rally will span the week of May 10 to the16th. Make plans to stay a few days or better yet, plan on staying for the week. Our base of operations will again be the MicroTel Inn of Robbinsville, NC. The owners and staff of the MicroTel treated us very well last few years so it just made sense to set up shop with them again in 2004.

If you're even THINKING about attending this year's rally, put the mouse down and call for room Reservations (828-479-6772) NOW!

Camping will also be available for you hardier folks at the:
Iron Horse Camp Ground (Just 12 mi south of Robbinsville)
Call Dave and Charlene at 828-479-3864

Or: The Crossroads of Time (Right at the end of The Dragon in downtown Deal's Gap)
Call 800-889-5550

Keep in mind if you're planning on camping....most activities (rides & runs, etc.) start and end at the MicroTel in Robbinsville. If we're leaving at 8:30AM for an all-day ride, you'll have to leave the campgrounds at least a half hour before hand to make the start. And while I'm on the subject of rally rides, PLEASE GAS UP BEFORE THE SCHEDULED START OF ANY RIDE. THANKS

The 2004 rally will include the following activities:

Run the Dragon with fellow members of the CSBA and folks from all over the USA.

Riding the Cherohala Skyway (Better on weekdays). Awesome at night!

Meet old friends and make new friends

Evening Ice Cream Run to Fantana Village (You think those NC roads are challenging in the daytime? Try 'em at night with a belly full of ice cream!)

Road trips to some of the most beautiful (and less traveled) roads in western NC and eastern TN (Please...Buy those new tires and scuff 'em in BEFORE you come to the Gap!).

Mid-week seminars...free! Motorcycle safety & tech tips by Bill Allen, Bible instruction, discussion and prayer meeting every day, Back roads riding tips with Bob Brown, GPS do's and don'ts with Marvin Gurganus and John Mathis.

Saturday evening church dinner (DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!)

Daily prayer and fellowship services with Pastor Dave Brown of Calvary Chapel, Columbus, OH

  • A week at Deals Gap - $200.
  • Roasting a set of tires at the Gap - $350.
  • Low siding your CBR1100XX - $9,500.

Will do. I'm staying at the Country Inn and Suites in Alcoa All of the rooms in Robbinsville were taken and it's about as close as I could get.

At least we'll have a better selection of restaurants in Alcoa as opposed to Robbinsville.

I think the R6 Forum or whatever is staying at the Micro as well - around 40 of them.

Gonna be crowded down there!

I've been reading that since the April 9th fatal motorcycle crash on the Dragon (the day we were there), the cops are everywhere now. Don't get pulled over.

Yeah I heard the cop are really bad down there on the weekends. That's way I like to get there early in the week when there are lest people to deal with.

Besides I need another set of dragon stickers for my bike.

Brobill -

Nice to meet you at the Crossroads of Time. Hope you made it back home safely.

The Gap was packed with soooo many bikes this weekend, lots of crashes and more loud Harley's than I've ever seen down there.

Some "fairly famous" riders got bit on the Dragon too!
