Chicago Radio Stations Roll Call

I picked up a (new) used car. And now I have to load up the FM radio presets with some stations. I need your suggests as to what to add. I like to listen to Rock, Alterative, and Trance, mostly. So, I'll be adding Q101 and the Zone ,of course. Any other suggestions? I'd welcome out-of-the-box suggestions, too. I always liked NCC's college radio station, but I currently can't get that one, due to where I live.

AM, suggestions, too. But I mostly listen to just WLS on the AM dial.

Thanks

BTW, you got a new cage but still no bike. Where are the priorities? Someone has to lead the MDRs.

Hey, Juan-

I got a LOADED 2001 Chevy Impala LS. I needed to get something that was more dependable and practical, than my Mustang Cobra for my commute.

I know, I NEED to get another bike! MDR's are not the same, without a Hayabusa.

yes!!! WNUR is my long-time favorite. i listen mainly during the day for the indie rawk. after 9:30pm, the streetbeat show has drum'n'bass/hip hop/trance/etc.

88.3 WZRD from northeastern has a similar format, but their range is even more restricted. unless you're on the northwest side of the city on a regular basis, forget about it.

given your choices i think you would like the typicl 96.3(they're good only sometimes) 103.5,101.1 for starters and the news as one of the end presets is always handy. when you get tired of the crap theyre playing on the muic stations.

hope i can hold onto my license this summer

I think my current presents are:
FM= 99.5/101.1/101.9/94.7
AM= 890/670/720/530?/1610? (last two are the automatic traffic)

In the morning I usually listen to 101.9 and 99.5. Afternoons are WLS or 101.9

**CHICAGO TRIVIA - What do the initials WLS stand for and why?

My bet is that they land on 670 Which is a tad irritating since I like the rest of the 890 lineup for the most part. I think that WLS needs to get a collective head examination

Big WLS fan...been on ol' Roe'Gary show and I actually made it into their "Greatest" collection for when they are on vacation. I love their line-up too and miss Gary desperately. In the past 8 months, I've started to finally listen to FM every now and then. I was starting to get out of touch w/ music and my age
