A Day in the Life of my friend Lt. Patterson (Mosul, Iraq)

Hello all,
I know I don't post here very often anymore, but I thought I'd share with you some pictures of the platoon I received from my best friend, an LT in Iraq who is in charge of a Stryker platoon. He is now in Mosul which is the northern city that makes the Sunni Triangle. I have many letters from him, all of them describing the action over there of some nature and he's only been there a short time so far (he was deployed at the end of April).

Here are a few pictures of the Stryker and members of his unit. Sorry, no pictures of my friend yet...but these should give people a better idea. The Stryker in these pictures is either the recon or infantry variant, I don't have any ATGM pictures yet. The cage suspended around the vehicle is the slat armor, designed to misshape incoming RPG rounds so their impact on the hull is diminished. I haven't ever posted mulitple pics in a post yet, so this might not work here. If not, I'll just post one and see what happens...

Ok, screw that, I can't figure this out.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Great post. If you feel like posting more letters please do. I for one like reading that stuff, and it's the one post about the war that nobody here can argue about!

Thanks to your buddy and his crew~

Here is the inside of the IFV variant, these are pictures from Bravo and Charlie companies (my friend's company, has only been over there for a month, so not many pictures yet). For OPSEC, the thing was cleaned out so nothing sensitive would get photographed.

Damn those lucky fuckers, I had to walk everywhere I went! Glad they are safe and got some armor around them.

Well, even though I walked everywhere, at least I had a sat phone on me at all times for phoning home. I guess there's a trade off there!
