Talking Ok Computer Geeks I Need Your Help...

I've got a Dell Laptop with NO serial port, but do have USB's. The thing is I'm TRYING to load a different map into my PCIII and needed an USB to Serial Port Cable. No problem there I bought it from RadioShack.

The problem is that the driver that came with it I can't load because it's on a floppy and my puter doesn't have a floppy drive.

Is there a place online that I can get the driver from or is there some other way to bypass this bitch????

Anyone close to Joliet got a BURNER that I can burn the driver from this floppy to a CD??

I've been trying to get this damn map loaded in the bike for the last 2 weeks and it's starting to piss me off

ANY Help would be appreciated

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

What's the brand of the USB serial port cable thingie?

Find that out, and go to their website (NOT RadioShack - go to the website of whoever makes the cable... Belkin, etc.) You should be able to download the drivers for it.

Website should have the driver that you can download for free... Or you could buy a USB floppy drive. Might be able to bring one to Strats even. You could probably borrow one if you can't find the drivers online. Let me know...

the point of bringing the floppy is that someone will take it home and send the content of this floppy to you via e-mail, or puts it on FTP server where you can easily get it.

I just need someone who has a floppy and cd burner to burn this for me so I can load the drivers or somewhere online that has the drivers I can download from there.

WHY CAN'T THIS BE EASIER

I would ask someone to load the map for me, bit I tried that once and there laptop went to shit. Plus I wanna do some comparing and don't wanna waste there time.

Bring your labtop to Strats. I have a 3-1/2" floppy drive right here. This way before you even leave Strats you can have you new map loaded in your bike!

Download from Dell the drivers for the 3-1/2" floppy drive I have. P/N 10NRV-A00
3.5" 1.44mB
DS/N PH-071PXH-48155-257-1401 (you shouldn't need this number but just incase)

Hmmm. Well first of all, shame on you for buying it from RadioShack.

Take it back, and go get one from Best Buy - something with a brand name on it. If it also comes with a floppy (doubt it - I bet a better brand comes on CD) then you can for sure download the drivers off the web.
