Hey computer guys especially IT guys

I need a keyboard for a dell inspirion 2650.

Dman cat jumped on the table and spilled my beer, I took the whole system apart and everything works fine, but the letters "a", "q" dont work and "e" just keeps repeating it self.

Anyone have one laying around or know where i can get one cheap?

Best bet is to call Dell and get a part number then google for it. I have found them cheaply that way.

You can also take the keyboard out and use some brake wash to attempt to clean it out really good. Since you know which keys are screwed (and you plan on replacing it) it is a no-lose risk if the keyboard is removed when you spray the snot out of it.

Ya I was thinking about doing that too. I was gonna use isopropyl alcohol and douse it and see what happens. But the gallon I have is at work so I wont have that till monday.

call dell tech support.
When I knocked a drink over on my key board I called them and they send one next day. I had gold support on mine.

You will have to pay if you tell them you spilled some thing on it. or you could play dumb and say "no nothing spilled on it like i did"

At home with a mad wife and no bike to go out on....
Not envious of you at the moment.

all we got are stinkpads, so I"m not much help

on most of them the keys come apart

does rubbing alcohol leave that much sediment...
that and some canned air...
... I've just sprayed the crap out of them with canned air before and it gets liquid then evaporates fast... Plus you can chase the cat around with it afterwards

Here kitty kitty
