bicycle accident

I decided to go out for a bicycle ride along the lakefront today.
When I was on my way back (right near where the old shotgun range was ) I saw a a bicycle with the front wheel all pretzeled up and (i think it was ) a guy in the middle of the path motionless.. his head was right on the pavment.
you could hear the ambulance so we cleared out of the way...

Any one hear anything about this.. looked pretty nasty.

Either last year or the year before someone died from a head injury on rollerblades on the lakefront.

Its really crowded on the bicycle path around there, and its a downhill section so some people come flying through there even during the times its really crowded.

I have heard that every year 5+ people die on the bikepath along LSD due to bicyclist, rollerblader, pedestrian collisions.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."
