New Wednesday Night DJ Series Features Electronic Dance Music

This year, Chicago SummerDance expands with the addition of the DJ Series that will feature local and international DJs spinning three hours of various styles of electronic dance music. Legendary local DJ Derrick Carter kicks off the inaugural week of the new 10-week long Wednesday night series running June 23 - August 25 from 6:30-9:30pm. Unlike the other nights of the Chicago SummerDance program, there will be no dance lessons offered on Wednesday evenings.

i've posted like 3 times. i mostly observe for info or cool parties. as an example i found out about sears tower 95th floor party from purefuture and it turned out to be awsome. i am a huge fan of electronic dance music so it helps to know what dj's are in town.

I was never impressed with Oakenfold live. Felix da Housecat on the other hand is the SHIT!

I've actually been out of that scene for a while now though.

oakenfold is a sellout. i've heard that sometimes he doesnt even spin the records - he uses cd's. he's just way too commercial now. and that's fine. his music sounds good in tv commercials. but when i go to see a dj live i expect to feel his talent and see his hard work on the decks, not dance to a frikking cd

Over the years my tastes have changed, too. I think I'm more into Max Graham, Seb Fontaine, Christopher Lawrence, Suze Solar, than I am Oakenfold.

As for Sasha, he is hit or miss with me. His stuff either rocks the planet or is kind of so-so. Sasha's X-Pander, of course, is an uber classic.

Digweed is the man. I have his Bedrock mix on my MP3 player...It's a good tune to workout to.

Tong is cool, but he loses me when tosses in hip-hop into his playlist.

Digweed, Sasha, Oakenfold, Tiesto, Corsten are getting old. I need new stuff to listen to! Any suggestions?

I am a big fan of trance but break beat has grown on me quite a bit. There are a ton of great DJs out of Orlando.

Rick West
DJ Fiori
Jason Holland

I am stumped right now but I am heading there in a week so I will pay a little attention to whats good then spread the word if interested.

Ohhh girl, you're gettin me started. So, if you're a DJ and that's your favor, I'd like to watch you spin sometime Maybe sit in on a session or two or three or four, you know, see how it's done
