A sad, sad day for me....

A few of you (Maks, Grover, Gulpacoke, BuzbyU) knew Gerard Viola and what happened to him a few years ago.

Long story short, his cheating wife gave me his most valued possession, his Gixxer 7/11 as she knew he wanted me to have it. However, the police began conducting an investigation into his suicide and the next thing I knew, his widow gave a familly member with a fleeting interest in bikes the motorcycle as a desperate attempt at damage control. Sucking up my disappointment, I tried to help out the new owner with everything I knew about the bike. At least it would be in good hands and valued for what that bike meant. All I asked, pleaded, really, was that if he ever decide to get rid of the bike, that he contact me first.

Imagine my surprise when I see his bike for sale right here on this board....

http://www.chicagolandsportbikes.net...threadid=18545

I know that V2Neal isn't related to Gerard, and let me make that perfectly evident, that I imagine he simply purchased the motorcycle at some point during these past two years.

I'm a little disappointed that it will now cost me $ that I can't afford to spare for something that should be with me right now, but I'm going to look on the brighter side and say that this is, without a doubt, fate that I happened to check the board and find his bike for sale one half hour before I leave for Northern Wisconsin (Bloomer) which is two short hours from the Twin Cities.

If anyone knows V2Neal, could you have him contact me ASAP at 847-420-6225? I'm logging off now and headed up north. He can also contact my parents in E.C. at 715-695-3277 as the cell coverage is weak at best....

Eau Claire....

Yeah, I'm just a little jacked up right now. I'm almost positive that V2Neal isn't Gerard's uncle or cousin. You know, it's certainly not his fault, he's just the person who happened to buy it. My apologies Neal if that's how it came across...

And even if V2Neal is the relative, I've found something I thought was lost forever...

It's all good. So... maybe it's not so sad, maybe it's a good day.

Sounds like a good day for acash advance on a credit card. Normally I would never do that but this sounds like a good reason.

G
Gerard and I were both going through divorces. I had just completed mine, Gerard was trying desperately to keep his together. He loved his wife unconditionally, even though she was sleeping around. Gerard and I got back from riding to the south side of Chicago one day, and we said our goodbyes and both went home. When he got home, he found his wife's diary detailing her exploits including meeting men on the internet and shacking up with them, including a week long affair down in Tennessee. It was too much for him to take and he hung himself in his garage.

He was a good man. Probably the best I ever knew. And certainly not deserving of what life handed him that day, regardless if it was by his hand or not.....

That's what the Gman is in reference to below my sig....

Order, order in the court.
It's all good. The bike will be going to HRB, and I'm happy to see it go there.
I bought this bike from a local rider who associates with us on another forum, rode it for awhile, and decided it was too fast for my own good. As an MSF instructor, I need a valid license.
Mark this down as one of those "small world" strange occurances.
Or just fate.

Well, I'm not giving to Rick, but I'm not profiting off the deal either. I'm recouping what I paid, and Rick is getting a very cool momentum.

I need a little credit here in the wierd "fate" / "small world department."

There's a pretty good chance Neal wouldn't even use CLSB had I not moved up here. I am the MN/Chiocago Connection.

And what's really cool about all of that is I moved up here just over two year ago from wheaton to be closer to my then 6 month old daughter....

her name is Gloria.

We all call her G.

This is good news. Gerard always loved this bike, constantly talked about it.

The details of his death are a bit disturbing. Guess that would explain her behavior during his funeral Nobody deserves to be treated like that, especially him.

Are you sure you don't want to make this V2 day, Neal?!

Just happy that it'll all work out.

Grover.... Makes her actions a little more understandable, doesn't it? The following week, which she took off to just "be by herself" in Wisconsin?...

I listened to her voice mail to a mutual friend (she was unaware we knew each other), in which she detailed how she was actually with another guy that she met off the internet for the entire week and gushed about how much fun she was having, how beautiful it was in Lake Geneva, and how great the sex was with him.

No sense in reliving the negative, I suppose, and ultimately, I feel sorry for her.
