How is sprint's cell service?

How is Sprint's Cell phone Service here in the city suburbs? I may have to switch from Verizon.

I always thought sprint was like that last resort service that people get when they have bad credit and can't get anything good.

Don't trust Verizon, they used to be Ameritech and they were a buncha crooks. Cingular was ok but I couldn't get a signal to save my life and their customer service stunk. Sprint is great, I can get a signal from the bottom of a hole most of the time and I'm pretty happy with them, happy enough to be with them for 6 years! But that's purely my humble opinion!

Sprint has gotten better. When I first got it 4 yrs ago.
I did get a lot of dropped calls.
They did get it fixed in a couple years.
The range outside of the city is not good. Look at there coverage map.

When in california, if you strayed to far from SanFran the you would go into roam. Very thin line of coverage onlong a highway.

Get AT+T if you want the best coverage, even in the boonies.

i go out into the boonies for work alot, middle of cornfields, cow, pigs, horses, etc. and a friend of mine at work has AT&T and it sux pretty badly. once we get out of the chicago land area and head towards clinton, champaign, springfield, centrailia. service is right next to nothing.

I had it a couple years ago and was unbelievably worthless, have had ATT gsm since and it works great for me no matter where I am, even in the boonies. One thing to consider these days is that poor reception/dropped calls can be the phone itself, not the service. My girlfriend has non-gsm ATT and she's lucky if it will let her recieve a call, let alone make one. Other people with the same service and different phone don't have the problem.

Virgin mobile uses the Sprint network...

AT&T used to be good on their TDMA digital network, but since Cingular (CellularOne) and AT&T started to share networks and wanted to switch their network to GSM.. they've took a turn for the worse.. that's what they get for trying to be like T-mobile (<---) T-mobile is my provider of choice

Verizon (Ameritech), US Cellular (bought out PrimeCo) and Sprint use CDMA digital networks... Verizon seems better only because their network is pretty huge. CDMA can't go through walls very well..

Boost Mobile is prepaid cellular 2-way using Nextel's network.. eh, not bad..
Tracfone.. prepaid using Cingular's old (TDMA) network

okay.. sorry for the lecture on cellular providers.. i've worked for them all..
