threw my back out

well sunday I was helping a buddy move and threw my back out...
was out in Naperville at the time and had to ride back to Morton Grove...roughly 50 miles on the highway... every little bump was killing me.. but made it home ok.

never thought I'd say this...but glad the weather will be crappy this week.

anybody have any tips on how to heal quickly?
Saw the doctor and he gave some vicodin and a muscle relaxer...
lets just say.. I'm having a pretty good party all by myself.

I am no doctor nor do I play one on TV.... but... ice it, 30 minutes OFF 30 minutes ON , as cold as you can take it. It helps get blood to the area to help in healing.

Ice. When I screwed my back last year the doc gave me this contraption that looked like a cooler with some hoses and a pad and charged me like 100.00 for it . Nothing but a ice chest and a small pump. Ice it ...

Its not how fast you get there,But the condition you arrive.

I used to have a really bad back, but I decided I would do something about it by doing deadlifts a lot more when I lift, and now I never have problems with it anymore. For now, try and keep active, take some walks, go up and down stairs, things like that. Laying down or sitting on the couch all day will make it worse. The absolute worst thing you can do now is ride a sportbike, I was dumb and tried to ride mine with my back thrown out before, and I couldn't even stand up straight afterwards.
