Craaaazy Cage

ok...so i get off from work at 5pm tonight ...i work at the home depot in glendale heights. so i jump on the highway to come home, and as usuall, there is tons of traffic...to make a long story short, i was traveling west on i90 in the middle lane when this guy in a huge dually cage flys up next tome and SWERVES at me while flippin me the bird!!! at that point, my boxers were bout half full of crap...so i drop three gears and split lanes to get away from this guy!!! i could see him tryin to catch me but there was too much traffic! now on a (squidly day) i would understand and expect at least 1 cager to get pissed at me.. but tonight i was jus cruisin home with traffic mindin my bizz!!! i have no idea what i may have done to that guy but he was tryin to take me out for some reason...ive never had that happen b4 and i jus wanted to get some input from u guys...has anything like this ever happened to you?????????

I am what I am, and I do what I do!!

Umm...yeah...lane splitting at highway speed after you already pissed someone off...hard to comment on this one.

I guess all I can say is that judging from your description of the incident, it sounds like there may be things that you are doing that may possibly be endangering the other drivers on the roads. The better option in a scenario like the one you found yourself in would have been to lane change to the far right lane and slow way down letting this cager go ahead of you with the rest of the flow of traffic.

The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

You obviously know how that other driver felt. When you had the above reaction, what triggered it? The driving behavior of the other driver? Put yourself in his shoes. Would the cager have acted that way for no particular reason? Seems like you may have done something to endanger the other drivers on the road.

hmmm.. i think what he's saying is that he was minding his own business and the guy just suddenly swerved to his lane...

maybe he's jealous... maybe he didn't like the fact that you ride a honda.. .. or maybe he just didn't like you..
Lane splitting is a definite but in your case, if your trying to get away from the maniac... then do what u need to do i guess.

here is a tip, if this ever happens again, its better your behind him, then infront, no matter the vehicle, you can control the whole thing alot more in this posistion, then him behind you.
cage or bike.
unless your blocking someones path with a vehicle to get them to stop, which i would suggest you try doing, unless your a cop.

Sometimes you don't know when you have pissed someone off, and that's when road rage starts.

As an example, I've been flicked off a couple times, and I thought I did nothing wrong. I later realized some people don't like to be followed too closely.

For instance, some cagers even get mad when you pass them, let alone tailgate them.

Yeah you are probably riding the bike he was gonna buy but didn't have the money in time Sorry this happened to you, but fortunately Ive not had this occur to me at all.
He may have done nothing at all. This guy may be some nut job who hates sportbikes for some reason, or any motorcycle for that matter. There's a lot of really unstable people in this world, and unfortunately we choose to ride among them.

The pessimist fears this to be true.

Yes, there are some that would. Did you hear about this piece of work that rear-ended a woman and pushed her on to the Metra tracks:
