I don't know if it's the Blue Angels' or the Thunderbirds' turn this year, but they're practicing for this weekend's Air and Water Show now. They'll be practicing tomorrow as well, I'm sure.

Blue Angels this year...we had the pleasure of seeing them on the way up to Winona last time.

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

Yeah, I see them. Its the Blue Angels. Sometimes I miss hearing that sound.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

It's the Blue Angels. Pretty cool stuff. They don't "buzz" the buildings as close as they used to prior to 9/11.
It's gong to be packed on the lakefront this weekend.

Food for thought:

When you guys see the Air Show this weekend just think of how much closer the Iraqis view of all those aircraft has been.

I'm in the Merchandise Mart, I have a "window desk" right on the SW corner overlooking the Chicago River. I opened up the blinds so I don't have to get up to see the show.

My coworker was just telling me that it certainly is an impressive show for any foreign tourists on the tour boats on the Chicago River. I can just imagine the tour boat captain:

"Ladies and gentlemen, if you look overhead right now, you will see what we will do to you if you ever try to attack us".

Just spent an hour on my deck enjoying an adult beverage and catching the show. It doesn't suck to live right underneath the northside turnaround spot.

The best times we've ever had watching the show though were on the rooftops of the condo's on Clark. The jets actually pass through at eye level between the two buildings. Bitchin!

Nothing like having your gf flash a pilot and having him give you the while he whips by.

Sure thing. Let me just hop in my time machine and...oh wait, my time machine is in the shop getting dyno'd and having cool stickers installed. Guess you'll have to use your imagination.

Headin down Fri. night with the wife and kids and stayin downtown overnight for the Sat. festivities. Should be a kickin show. From the news clips it looks like both the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds are going to be there!! Personally though I hope they have the Harrier (sp) jump jet there again. Cool as hell seein that thing transition into and out of a hover!!

P.S. Water show starts at 9:00 a.m. and the Air Show starts at 11:00 a.m and runs til 4:00 p.m. from Fullerton Beach to Oak St. Beach with the main viewing point being at North Ave. Beach. One word of advice: Get there no later than 9:00 to get a spot on the beach to sit.

Yeah, its nice to see the Blue Angels overhead, rattling your office windows while they pass by. Oh yeah, I got the best view as well!! I work at the water filtration plant (Jardine Water Plant, the building north of Navy Pier).
There are 2 Blackhawk helicopters parked in our plant, I will get pics soon with phone cam. Yes, they are practicing tomorrow (hope it don't rain). I get the best seats in the house Sat., I work 3:30 till midnight. So I will come to work early
