oops, should have probably watched my speed

so I was out riding this morning. I was just riding an industrial parkway, going about 45-50mph. well I guess I was comming out of the last turn a little hotter then Johnny law would have liked. The end result was 61 in a 40. and because I was doing some work in on my bike last week, my trunk was empty which meant no proof of insurance, now I have to appear before a judge in ~30 days. I guess it's just a cost of riding a motorcycle, right?

Damn, that sucks. What a way to ruin a great day. Sorry, bro.

How does 45-50 turn into a 61. Did he radar you or you just didn't realize how fast you were going. I hate when that happens.

I recently got an 80 in a 65 in WI. The fukin ticket is $255.. I couldn't believe it. At 1:30AM to top it off.. almost nothing on the road. Every 10-15 minutes after that, there was another cop waiting to see if he could get me a second time. WI SUCKS.

With out of state tickets, if you don't pay - do you just get a warrant in the state of the offense, or can it follow you back to your home state?

Mike,

I got a ticket doing 75 in a 55 in WI a while ago and it was like $235. If you don't pay the ticket right then and there, you have to mail it in, if you don't mail it in. they will hunt you down here in IL.

damn popo got me for a 89 in a 55 on thursday. He tried to tell me that I was drag racing!! I says, scuse me mr. popo but do you see any other bikes or cars around here?! (ya, i was by myself), needless to say I got the "pretty" look from him. The ticket says I "must" appear in court. what else is the farm roads supposed to me used for? WTF!! damn you Johnny Law with your funny looking hat!!
ok, i feel a little better now.

I had fun with one of those speed clocks back on Friday...coming home fromRound Lake area, they had one set up, which displays your speed and flashes it at you...I saw it, got on the gas and it flashed 82 (in a 35 zone) No police around, so no ticket, but thought I'd mention it to bring some levity to the thread

You get the idea. Tapping into a +12V line. Buy the accessory straight cord with an inline fuse and splice.

There are battery powered radar detectors out there. I got one from Costco which works great. Its saved me a few times. The only problem is I don't have space in the tail of my 10R to store it when off the bike somewhere.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
