how's nextel service in Il?

Ok I gave up on the sprint idea. I can get the nextel unlimited for $85 a month after a company discount. How is there service in illinois? Do you get a lot of dropped calls? Is there a lot of dead zones?

Good coverage, not many dropped calls. The new i830 is no longer a huge brick like old Nextels. I don't ever plan on going back to another brand.

Love it. I've only had drop calls in my house, I think it has to do with my wireless internet, but who knows.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

loved mine back in the late 90's when i worked for motorola. and i just recently got a new one 4 months ago. i530. i love it to death.
havent had any real problems in the wheaton, chicago(north, loop, south sides),aurora, naperville, countryside areas.

i dont use the PTT service much because only one or two ppl i know also have nexttel and they are coworkers.

if you can hold out on getting a new phone nextel will be releaseing 2 new phones in late sept. and they are gunna be camera phones. they are pretty sweet if you ask me. pricey but sweet.

also the services nextel offers like online phonebook management, and the abily to import contacts from various email clients is a big plus. (provided you have internet service on your phone)

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

nextel here too, it's awesome. I only have problems in basements and things like that, which is true of all cell phones anyway.

Wow... well I'm the opposite of everyone here.

I had them for just over a year and hated it. Had an i95. Tons of dropped calls. Phone would constantly go into "No Service" - even mid-conversation. 2-way PTT was unreliable. The only phone I've ever owned where I could stand still in one spot, and watch the signal indicator go from full-strength, to No Service, and back to full-strength, all by itself.

Most of my friends (including DanO on the board here) have it and hate it as well. I'm the first one to dump them, and I'm NOT looking back.
