So you can't browse the web at all? Maybe you should check your proxy settings and make sure they're off if you're not using one.

Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings button below.

open up a cmd window and make sure you still have a valid IP address with the ipconfig command

you may have lost your dhcp assigned address and have to do a renew to get a new addy

Is your Network cable still attached? Did it come loose?

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

assuming you're wiring is ok. (green leds on nic and router)
taking Ernies suggestion a little further
cmd window ipconfig /all
if you do have an ip address and its not 169.254.x.x
(if it is, like mentioned above you lost your dhcp server -- probably your router) anyway.. assuming you do have a valid ip address

Ping default router listed
ping dns servers listed
ping an internet address by name(some don't reply)
ping internet address by number
if you get replies by number but not by name .. its possible the dns server you have listed is not up or for some other reason not available
