Crazy Mary hit by a car (and did not survive) ???

And for today's edition of "Rachel's Radio Rumors" (I'm sorry guys, I'm always posting these... )

Allegedly, Mancow's "Crazy Mary" was hit by a car, and possibly did not survive. Mancow announced it as something he had heard, but was not confirmed.

I searched the 'net and did not find anything. Anybody hear anything?

Is crazy mary really crazy? From my understanding his whole show is an act...and I mean the whole show. The crew, the stories, the callers...if you're listening you can kinda tell cuz he'll take one callers story and debate it and it seems very setup. Not to mention years ago my buddy had a tape of him admitting that the entire thing was fake back when he was on another station or something like that. This was years ago so when he played the tape for me I didn't really care at that time, but he thought it was awesome that he was admitting it for the one and only time that his show is fake. Any backup on this?

is this the same crazy mary we we used to give a dollar to down on rush and division and she would do funny things on the sidewalk? i.e. moon people, pee on the sidewalk and stuff?

YOU CANT BE SERIOUS????????????? The entire show... A fake???

i have called into the show and made it on air a number of times. slowass has too. definitely not fake. maybe some of the calls into the show that people are making things up but it is a real show with real callers and sometimes real stories.

LowBusa,

That's the Crazy Mary I was thinking of. I've seen her in the South Loop a lot lately. I hear she put 3 kids through medical school turning tricks and begging.

She's been a staple of the Gold Coast for over 20 years.

same here, we use to hang down on division about 15 years ago. she'd be walking by the bars flashing people.

as far as mancow, I can't even take hearing the sound of that guys voice. it's what I imagine pure crap sounds like if it could make a sound.

Close.

This is a subtlety of the show that most people don't get: Mancow's show is a spoof on morning radio talk shows. Very few people get this, but if you listen to much of his antics, he's making fun of them.

Take, for example, his "game shows". We have "The answer is 'C'", "The Big Goonie Gameshow" or "Everybody wins." These are spoofs on how stupid radio games are. They even play gay-ass music and everything.

The queen mother of this whole act was last week, when Coyboy Ray and Big Goonie held a 10 minute conversation. It was hilarious!!! Just two mentally-challenged people chit-chatting back and forth for EVER. That's when I was like "I feel like I'm listening to Eric and Kathy!"

I just realized something. Coyboy Ray was off the show for a while, rumored to be dead. Crazy Mary's supposed "death" could be just another part of this. You know how radio talk shows develop this fan base which management lies to in order to 'write someone out' of the show who is not currently appeasing listener opinion...

Also, more on the radio talk-show spoofing: Mancow always has 1) A black sports guy 2) A girl and 3) A gay guy. Once any of these leave, he replaces them with just another. And he always stereotypes each as he's talking to/about them and he puts these distinctions in their titles (Our black sports announcer Al Roker Jr., our girl Stacy, Brian the Gay Mexican with music news...

Good radio, I say!

"Free speach Radio" where you can talk about whatever you want as long as the great "M" agrees, otherwise its, "click lost the call."

Sorry, I lost all respect for Mancow when he was at 103.5 and did his, "Bury me in Ice so I can face my fears about my dead father" which was followed up by, "oh sorry, my dad isn't really dead, just a joke." Something to that effect. This would have been sometime around '93.

Q101 used to be a good station, it went down hill when they signed him. Ever notice how many Q101 DJ's left the building shortly after he signed on?

Ciao,

To be more accurate, he's reported by the Sun Times to have been making $3,000,000 a year since his last contract- making him the highest paid radio personality in Chicago, period.

Important clarification: he's not making that crazy amount to READ a script, he's paid that to CREATE and PERFORM the script!

He was a theatre major in college, and guess what? It's all just theatre, all just a farce. I maintain that he has absolutely no respect for his audience- to him they're just the dummies who (indirectly) pay the circus performer!

Poor Crazy Mary! We all love her and care about her, right?

I was never a fan of Mancow.
Was turned off by him bad mouthing the other Chicago radio personalities Brandmier, Mathews, Dahl, and Stern(NY) from the start.

I also thought a lot of his show was BS. Wouldn't be surprised if it was true thats its

Well, to all that don't like him, you can shoot him in the ass during the charity paintball event this weekend. You also get a chance to shoot william shatner, or be on his team. The procedes go to families of fallen police officers.

I liked Mancow many years ago when he was only in Chicago. I went to alot of events and called the show frequently. As soon as he syndacated his show went south. Now I can't stand him. He's done a 180 and become completely opposite of what he used to say and believe.

Flip-flopping jagoff. Aught to call him ManKerry.

Wait a second, I think that I'm talking about "Dirty Mary" who makes rounds near Division and State. I totally forgot her name. Anyway, if this post is about Crazy Mary then it appears that Dirty Mary may still be with us.

I hear that the 5 faces lets her keep her $$ there so she won't get mugged. They tell me she'd always have a few hundred $$ to drop off.

Wow, such anger against Mancow. He's an entertainer though. I too stopped listening for a while because what he says is mostly dumb rantings...but then I thought for a little while...he's a performer! Like Jerry Springer is to journalism, Mancow is to radio. And hell I like to turn on Springer when I'm home sick to catch a good laugh, so why not Mancow? I guess if I wanted to hear something vaguely more real, I would just turn on a news station.

He also said that his mom died. I think it was back in '97. He tried to be real sad, but it didn't seem like anyone was calling in to send their condolences. But he did kind of mention it in passing. I didn't think much of it and didn't doubt it's validity. Then I heard her on the radio what had to be a couple years later. Guess folks forget.

Damnit! OK, I'm a Mancow fan, but this is ridiculous. A few weeks ago, he said that Freak died on the operating table when he was getting his back surgery. I e-mailed 94.7 to ask about this. I got a very terse message back that I should not listen to the things that Mancow says.

I'm guessing that this is all a part of the farce and parody, but I don't really think it's funny.

I listen to him too, as entertainment. If you take everythink he says to heart or 100% seriously or 100% fact, I'm sorry you're an idiot. He does make me laugh and stuff and I don't care if he bashes Stern, or anyone, it's radio. I can't stand Stern, he's an ass and then he comes out with a movie that makes him look like a nice, sweet guy.
Mancow does make a point at times, once he had some guy call on a Nextel in the studio to show how much of a pain Nextels can be in public.
Mathews, Dahl, and others bash him too. I tried to listen to Dahl and all i got was dead air with him, he is sooooo bornig. If I need help sleeping I should turn him on. That's why I listen to Roe Conn on WLS now, and I stopped listening to Mathews and listen to Rush also. I'm just sick of phone scames all the time, they get old.
I do agree with him on some stuff. My sister hates him because he called Princess Di (or is it princess dead?) a whore, I agree with him. She was, she only went to guys with money and stuff.

Anyone remember the bar on Rush and Division called PS Chicago? I worked there a couple weekends and we always had a blast watching Crazy Mary doing her stunts.

The one I will never forget it walking down Rush and watching craazy mary wlak up to a some bay window of a restaruant, dig down in her front pants, and smear a trail of crusty juice all over the window, I almost threw up, Im sure the people inside eating bolted for the bathroom!
