New York Style pizza

Anyone know where I can get some GOOD New York Style pizza? I am dying for a slice. I grew up in New Jersey. Ever since we moved out to the Midwest, I have not been able to find a place that serves up a slice of New York style the way I remember it. Any of you guys/gals from the East Coast who can vouch for a place, let me know.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

No self respecting Chicagoan would ever open a pizza place that serves that stuff

I like Arelios (sp?) pizza. They have a few shops throughout the burbs. There's one in Naperville on 75th next to the DMV. I love their NY style pizza.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Chicago pizza is over-compensation at its finest. Kinda like riding a Busa.

NY pizza is kinda like liberalism, Flat, boring, and no flavor.

Well, I go there all the time according to Chuckie and Moparboyy. So, while I'm pickin' up on the 6 year olds at the local Chuckie Cheese, maybe I'll grab a slice of pizza.

I can't believe you posted something like that in this forum. You are asking for trouble.

We take our pizza very seriously in this neck of the woods. We don't eat crap like that. That also includes California-style.

New York Style pizza, yummmm hmmmm so good. Jeez, I could probably get banned for a comment like that.

Rule 6 Regulation 4 - No member shall inquire, comment, question, or think about New York Style pizza. Members shall hold Chicago Pizza dear to there heart like the loser Cubs and pathetic Bears regardless of how obvious it is that, as an institution or organization, the aforementioned item sucks. Any violation of the rules will result in BANNED status and a public flogging.

Try Caponies on Harlem, they have a margarita pizza that close, very thin crust, motz, tomato and olive oil, close to NY pizza but not perfect
There is another place located on Lawrence Ave just east of western, cant think of the name, they have a real NY pizza, but only sell 12" pizza's, i thought it sucked, but my guess is you would love it

Try Got Pizza on State street just south of Balbo. Good slice 'za, they cut it in half so you don't have to fold it. Pat's Pizza has excellent thin crust as well.

Oh ya and the crust should be at least a 1/4 inch thick and thats if its THIN crust

Hahaha I'm comparing apples to apples, our thin crust to what ever it is that looks like crispy card board on the east coast.

Deep dish is the true antithisis of pizza evolution. it is to be bowed down to and worshiped as the leader of all culinary delights
