ohh yeah i forgot kids cant have a mock of a grownups toy. exspecially since most grownups cant afford a JJ bike.

Jesse James claim to fame was that he was anti-establishment and that he was against "the Man." By doing Trak Auto commercials and now selling bikes at Wal-Mart, it diminishes Jesse's anti-establishment image.

Now, I'm not some Socialist living in Cuba. I'm a Capitalist, so I hope that Jesse makes all the money he can and laughs his rich ass all the way to the bank.

What's so bad about being a sell-out? This is America! Jesse James is good at what he does, he's good on camera, and he's making bank off of it. Good for him!

Hell, if Discover Channel wanted to do a show called "Monster Air Traffic Analyst" I'd be all over it in a heartbeat. Bring on the action figures of Chills and his desk and his green bikes!

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I am with Matt on this one.

Don't portray yourself as a 'on the fringe of society' kind of guy and then slap your name on junk just to make a buck.

The sellout part is his own fault. Portrayed himself as a hardcore anit-this and anti-that and now he sells junk at walmart to make a buck. Come on -You want to make money go for it just don't say one thing and do another in the name of money...then you are just a punk full of

What I like even more is how you can go into just about ANY store ANYWHERE and find garbage OCC or West Coast Choppers shirts, hats and other shwag. Again, it's all about making money - but it's so overdone, it's bound to burn out in not too much time. It's plastered everywhere, so it's no longer somthing special.

I would think that a person who wears an OCC shirt or hat is a person who had a bike made by OCC and is proud of the work they did for him, so he advertises for them. Why people who don't own a bike made by them spend cash to advertise for a company they have nothing to do with is beyond me. What an advertisers dream... make the public PAY YOU to adververtise for THEM. Wish I could figure that one out.

Jesse's "character" has been created by the media to make him as marketable as possible. And I say character because that's what it really is. Footage and soundbites edited and spliced to create a persona who will bring in the bucks. Jesse has no say about this, and we have no idea who he really is. Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes.

Good point, but like I said about the parts store ads. Strike the iron while it's hot, why not make the cash while you can? The bicycle though, when I had a Stingray as a kid we put box bars on, and swapped out the seat. Then we jumped, and rode wheelies. I don't think that these bikes are gonna do that, at least not well.

Funny JJ is a sell out, OCC is selling out, but no one mentions harley? They built the image too, then just sit back and made money, you can find people who don't own those bikes wearing their clothing. Heck you can see people riding Japanese cruisers wearing Harley gear, or even JJ, or OCC shirts for that matter. What's the difference? Because JJ is a person? Heck I'd rather see him making money than HD which is a Corporation. Traded publicly HDI stock symbol. It's all just what you do, it's called marketing.

Not trying to offend anyone, I'd just like to hear peoples opinions as to why JJ, or OCC is held to a higher standard than say Harley Davidson.

Oh trust me, I think Harley has done an OUTSTANDING job marketing. They are a succesful company no doubt about it. Shoot I think a lot of other fortune 500 companies could learn something from them. If you look at their stock over the past 5yrs even with a bad economy it never tanked like many others did. Sure it dropped some here and there but all in all it's on the upside. In my mind there are some extremely smart people guiding that company.

It's no secret that Harley is a bunch of marketing whores. I'm surprised that they have not slapped their name on a stadium or public venue.

On the other hand, I do applaud the fact that they are finally going to break ground on their motorcycle museum.

I am not judging him for what he did; I am calling him on what he said he would not do!

Agree to disagree I guess but no biggie, it is not like I could ever afford any of his bikes anyway.

I think it is great for him that he is selling all the crap at Wal-Mart. Getting motorcycles in general in the public's eye or mindframe is a good thing whichever it is done in a positive note or image. I bought a West Coast Choppers t-shirt at his shop when I went to California a while back before Wal-Mart started to sell them. Now I don't want to wear it because of every redneck hick wearing one. It isn't different anymore but it is still cool to see the public interested in some sort of motorcycling.
